Hi all,

Just wondering what people are paying for the new RS3 dependent on spec. It seems that to get a decent spec that will help for resale and not just a basic spec with a couple of add ons is coming in around the 50k's? Am I reading this right???

If you don't want to pay as much its fine with less options and of course somebody wants it. Even odd colour sells in the end but takes a little longer to sale with lower price. This hysteri of having loaded car is ridicilous and for instance for me its better with less options to broke and lighter car.

In best cases you can get approx 30% back from invested money so from 10k you get 3k and a little easier to sell. The answer is, yes its gonna sell anyway depending on price as always.

To buy a base spec car, it will be a Nardo car with silver 19's, all the chrome and basic S-Line type leather seats.

To get the car with any Metallic/Crystal paint, you're already at £46k, add in the Supersports/privacy/styling pack etc and you're up at £48k without really adding any options other than changing the aesthetics.

I'd imagine the average price point is going to be around £50-52k to be fair. Some slightly cheaper, some more expensive (Ceramics/Exclusive paint etc)

So my S3 with lots of extras came to £46,710.

A base RS3 Saloon S-Tronic with no cost colour option in Nardo Grey but adding the comfort pack (Advanced Key, Reverse Camera, B&O and Hold Assist) is
£46,245.

A Sportback costs less obviously; now I didn't pay that much for my S3 I had discounts however with my existing finance which needs to be paid off it came to around that point. So essentially I could have an RS3 for the same as my S3.

You will not get a discount on the RS3^ certainly in the early days and perhaps not even later. Tends to be made in smallish numbers vs other RS models.

TX.

^unless you know someone high up in Audi etc although even then I've no idea how they hide it from the business or Audi.

You would have got a sizeable discount on the S3 and you would have also benefitted from Audi's 4.9% rate on the S3's. RS3 rate is 6.2% and discounts are hard to come by.

I would imagine for the same deposit, monthly payments are likely to be in the 50-75% more per month range for the RS3 like for like. £500pm on an S3 at least £750pm on an RS3 etc.

Anybody any idea what the GFV is over 3 or 4 years yet?

I was told £26.2k and £23.1k for the 3&4 (30-40,000) but he did say that he thought the figures were under revision and that they weren't 100% as the systems at the time had very little info. I suspect these have probably been updated on the internal systems now.

Leo-RS how do you knwo rate is 6.2% as not out till friday

Same as above Zeppy, it was what was shown on his system at the time and that's what he has given me his quotes on.

The configurator goes live on Friday, correct.

6.2% is their standard rate, just look at the newly released Audi S5/RS5 /Q5/SQ5 etc for comparison, all standard 6.2% rates. What it does is creates a bigger gulf between S3 and RS3 as not only are there discounts to compare, there are the lower rates of finance on the S3 too.

With a normal £5k type deposit on a £50k car over 3yrs 30k miles, monthlies are going to be in excess of £700pm. For every £1k additional deposit, subtract £26 off the monthlies. S3's are significantly cheaper.

Agree my dealer quoted me worst case on 8.5% (used car rate) but saying more than likely 6.2 or below but can't confirm until Friday.

To get a rough indication, use the Audi finance calculator tool here and do the figures on the Audi S5 Coupe as this will have very similar comparable numbers.

https://www.audi.co.uk/explore-models/finance-calculator.html#/calculator?range=A5&model=S5 Coupé&trim=S5 Coupé&modelCode=F53S4A\0\MSNRS3C\GYMAYMA&productType=SOLUTIONS&deposit=375&mileage=10&period=36

The Audi S5 is £47,875 but comes with a £2,500 Audi contribution which brings the car down to £45,375. Pretty much the exact starting figure of an RS3 saloon.

Then play around with the deposit vs the amount of credit. If you know your RS3 saloon is going to cost £50k and you're going to put a £5k deposit into it, then you will be obtaining £45k credit. Adjust the S5 personal deposit so the amount you are borrowing is £45k. In this case, put £375 into the personal deposit box so the value of credit shows £45k in the quote.

The GFV is showing as £26.1k which is where the RS3 saloon will sit give or take a few hundred £.

Monthly payments are £725pm over 3yrs 30k miles and 6.2%

This equates to you speccing your RS3 to £50k, paying a £5k deposit and borrowing £45k with a GFV at £26.1k and 6.2%. The payments will pretty much be bang on. If you're paying less than £5k, add on £26pm for each £1k less and if you are paying more than £5k deposit, subtract £26pm from those figures for each additional £1k.

It gives you a rough indication of where your monthlies will be.

I am also checking with Prestige Finance who I have used previously to see if they can better the numbers coming out! Will keep you posted

Absolutely spot on from Leo. I was quoted a GFV on a TTRS of about £23k after 4yrs and minimal mileage so sounds right for the RS3.

I bought one yesterday and got £1250 off. Not bundles, but worth the phone call.

The rate wakefield audi quoted was 13.6% no chance stupidly high

Do we know if Audi or the dealers are doing any contributions to the RS3?

Heads up all, Listers Group in the UK have both models listed with an RRP of £900 under list!!

Calling up tomorrow to check the Exclusive Colour deal, looks like I will be traveling an hour or so up the road.

RRP is not OTR. First years car tax is £800, registration fee £60, plates etc

Spinstorm.... Audi will be a while off offering deposit contributions on these yet, they've only just opened the order books, there are no customer cars built or delivered yet. Perhaps they will offer something early 2018 but would be surprised if they offered deposit contributions on these before then. They only offer £600 for example on the S3 Saloon car and that's been out a while.

Dealer discounts though is another kettle of fish, you can get them but it depends on your relationship with your dealer. I have family within Audi so I managed to secure what I believe to be a good discount but for ordinary Joe public walking into a showroom and asking for discount, a much more difficult task. If you have bought a whole load of Audi's with your dealer before and they know you very well then I suspect you will be able to negotiate some discount.

I took that price as the price you can get them for, which is what it makes it out as because I thought registration fees were in excess of £1500.

Just playing around with it, 24 months seems like a good deal. It has the exact same GFV as 18 months therefore you can pay £95 less a month with the same deposit to keep the car for 6 extra months. Whereas moving from 24 months to 30, you have to pay an extra £23 a month. The figures above are if you put in a £10k deposit. Changing it to £5k deposit, the difference gets bigger.

A few RS....DREAMERS ON HERE ...LOL...You'll not get a discount on this car barring a miniscule £500 off Audi...and for some strange reason the RS3....seems to bring them all out of the wood work on here

Anyone notice that the Audi configurator adds £1,095 instead of £695 when selecting wheel options?

For anyone hoping for a 'dealer contribution' (discount)....then you may be dissapointed.

I would be very interested to know if anyone has managed to get any. Best I could get was a 'concession' on some of the extras I added but still not as much as when I ordered my current car.

Would like to have seen some different wheel design options too, maybe even the saloon alloys?

Yep that's because of the tax band, it's been noted.

I have an Audi UK discount of £1000 due to problems with my S3. The supplying dealer agreed an additional £1000 discount as good will, but I think I will have to use a different dealer due to their exclusive policies. I will try and retain the £1000 discount at the other dealer, but I hold out little hope. The minimum I hope to get is the £545 for the 5 year warranty!

Using the Audi S5 as described a few posts above is as close as you are going to get it until the RS3 is updated on the calculator.

The actual car used doesn't matter, it's the amount of credit required, the GFV and the finance rate. The Audi S5 so happens to be the closest priced on the calculator. Pretty much to the exact actually for price, residuals and finance rate.

The finance rate for the RS3 is definitely 6.2%. I was also told the GFV that they initially used as £26.2k and £23.1 when I ordered for the 3/4yrs is correct also.

Taking out £45k credit over 3yrs (£26.2k GFV @ 6.2%) is going to cost £725pm. £31pm +\- either way for each £1k above or below that £45k. If your car is £52k OTR, those figures will be with a £7k deposit, if your car is £48k OTR, those figures will be with a £3k deposit. It's just simple maths at the end of the day. The figure is £26pm on a 4yr plan.

I might talk to my dealer and spec one up just to see what kind of discounts you can get over here, even though I haven't decided what my next car will be. Would be interesting just to see comparisons. With no discounts the price is a bit steep at £61k, not really worth it.
