I don't seem to be able to get Audi Connect/MyAudi to work - it just won't connect to the car and sync and says the servers aren't working and to try again later. I've only had the car since Friday but having read the manual and searched on here I think I'm doing everything right.

Anyone else got issues or is it something I've not done right?

There are quite a few posts on this and I assume you've registered with myaudi and it has generated a pin to use?

I've looked at most posts but will keep looking! Yep, registered, got app and got a pin. Every time I enter the pin is when I get the 'servers aren't working, try again later' message.

I'm not ruling out I've missed something but looking at the manual, this forum and YouTube I can't see anything obvious and I've shown it to a guy at work who has an A7 with the same system and he thinks I've done it right as well. Obviously a first world problem but really bugging me. Just have to go for a drive to cheer myself up!!

Yup go for drive park somewhere and try again. One thing to check and see if the licences are activated. If all fails a trip back to the dealership might be needed...

So still no joy. Tried it in different places to rule that out. Tried both Audi online Chat and through FB, both directed me to a dealer sensibly enough. Went to my local centre yesterday (not the one I bought I from) but no luck, salesman said all looked ok......said I needed to go through service. Rang dealer I bought it from so just waiting a call back.....suspect it will be a long wait ha ha. I've seen on another thread here that I'm not alone which suggests it's not me being a technophobe and maybe a bigger issue. Something with MY18 cars perhaps? Anyways hoping I can get it sorted soon.

I had a similar issue which my local dealer never managed to fix. I am pretty sure that my account credentials got corrupted somehow during the account creation procedure and I was not able to fix it with a password reset. My local dealer kept telling me that my account looked OK to him (he must have a view of the server), but when I gave him my login credentials he couldn't log in either. He told me to try again in a few days, but that didn't change anything.
Eventually I emailed customer car (Luxembourg, so no good for you) and asked them to erase my account so that I could start again. This worked for me.

If you login to myAudi you can delete your profile - Menu, My Profile. You can then re-register with myAudi and get a new pin.

Have you got SOS in your car?

I don't know if having the sos feature makes any difference but the sos does use the pin number from the scratch off on the second key. They've had this in the usa since the b9 came out and I haven't read about any similar issues. Does the car have a sos button in the overhead console? If so could you kindly take a picture please...

Still cannot get mine to work or do anything, going into the showroom tomorrow as I have a catch up with the salesman, the VC is also playing up, it flickers for 5 minutes every morning before it settles down.

Just set it all up without issue.
Registered with MyAudi and added the car using the VIN.
Added my credentials for the above account in the MMI.
Entered vehicle number from key fob thingy.
Entered PIN from MyAudi.

I can get the vehicle status from the app and lock/unlock doors remotely. A bit disappointed I cannot find the aux heater within the app as would like this function during the winter months. I will keep digging.

Where in MMI as I don't seem to be able to add anything other than email address, I have a PIN but nowhere does it ask for it, likewise with the keyfob number, I have nowhere to enter it, unless I am doing something very wrong?

Sitting in car.
Menu>Audi Connect>Audi connect user management>display remote access authorisations>primary user>set primary user. Enter MyAudi username and the vehicle code from key fob > login.
Asks you to wait then should tell you you are the primary user etc.

Interesting! Mine's all ok until entering the PIN from MyAudi which is when it says currently unavailable try again later. Not ruling out I've got something set wrong but thinking it's unlikely now. Looks like I can't avoid a trip to the dealers!

Sit in car>Ignition on>Menu>Audi Connect> .... and no Audi Connect User management option here?

I have lots of options, weather, twitter etc and a data plan option that has a connection manager within it but I can't change anything or certainly no mention of codes or pins.
I have a 3 year subscription that came with he car, I wonder if this is causing an issue, visiting the dealer in the morning so will get them to take a look

Yea I can do the mmi app things lock in lock find car send it routes ect but in the car no google maps or that?

Don't believe we have the aux heater functionality in the UK?

At least you boys have the lock/unlock! Us MY17s don't even have that, so app is a complete waste of time and effort

You would have a different key fob with a timer built into it if the auxilary heater was fitted:
4 max

Hi, I've just brought home my new S3 and I have registered with Audi Connect (I'm seeing Google Earth in the car, etc.). The key user agreement states that you should enter the 10 digit vehicle code from the fob but the new S3's only have a 4 digit code. Do you know if this is the one that should be entered? Apologies, I've carried out a search on the forum but I am still unsure and I don't want to screw it up from the outset in case it's difficult to put right. Many thanks!

I set Audi Connect up today as my father in law has a new C Class and has been bragging about how he can lock doors, open sun roof, set climate control etc from his phone I thought id have similar features. Was quite disappointed to see that the only useable feature is the ability to sent destination info direct to the car, a feature that the mrs has on her Qashqai.

@cuke2u Is there any way we can get the key upgraded by Audi so we can have the heater and lock/unlock function?

I wouldn't know where to start aside from you would need the heater in the first place. If you don't have the facility on the key then your car doesn't have the heater...

I believe these functions need a car with the SOS function buttons in the headlining, if you don’t have the SOS button then no functions are available as the car is never connected to the internet with the ignition off.

I wonder if the heater function can be added with an update to the app (if you already have a MY18 car).

I never saw the point of it when I had it in the BMW and my dads Mercedes, but now it’s cold that would be really handy.

Had a quick look into it earlier. The heater can be retrofitted and controlled via sms but it’ll set you back £1,000+

I think il give that a miss :openmouth:

Does anyone know if the internet radio works with the cars data instead of my phone data? It doesn’t seem to work if my phone isn’t connected.

I haven’t gotten around the reading the manual yet. Please don’t kill me.

I've been trying to look into all of this and have come up with the following observation:
  • I setup AudiConnect with dealer right after pairing phone via Bluetooth, as dealer was keen to show off how easy BT pairing was…
    • this appears to have done something about creating an AudiConnect user account linked to the phone and using the phone's LTE/3G connection
    • such a setup only seems to allow AudiConnect Online services, but not the Vehicle services and means that your phone has to be present & connected over BT in order for any online services to work. Some services like Internet Radio seem to have a dependancy on the embedded SIM however
I'm embarrassed almost to say that as a senior technical lead in a technology company, but having read the Audi published literature I'm not longer embarrassed, as its they who should be embarrassed by the lack of quality - anyway; after a LOT of reading and getting confused I got down to the core of the issue.

AudiConnect has three modes:
  • use embedded SIM and AudiConnect PIN you can see in your myAudi portal
  • use Bluetooth connected phone and mTan which is sent to you Over The Air (OTA)
  • use second purchased SIM on separate data plan
    • (I haven't tried this option so can't speak to how it would handle the user management end of this)

With each of these different methods you seem to have a linked AudiConnect User Account, and its those account details which get pulled into the MMI when you initially turn on the ignition.

Therefore, I've found that if you'd like to use features like the Internet Radio, MMI Connect app, any of the vehicle settings then you have to be using the embedded SIM and logging in to AudiConnect using the Connect PIN from myAudi portal. Annoyingly as my phone was initially setup I'm finding that the MMI is connecting to my phone initially, leaving me to have to login manually to the myAudi account where I have created destinations and other widgets. I've memorised my PIN, but its pretty annoying.

In order to resolve this I'm going to take a look at removing the phone's account. This has all come down to the fact that the dealer was keen to get the phone paired, which I appreciated, however as he didn't understand how AudiConnect worked its led to this confusion.

I'm perfectly aware that I am not necessarily speaking sense, and anyone with greater experience than me (not even had the car a week yet!) may well be able to correct my assertions herein, but this has been my observations so far.

Hope this helps @A4AvantBlackEdition ?

Hi all, I have a couple of questions regarding the Audi apps...

1. Which is the app we should now be using? Is it MyAudi or is it MMI Connect?

2. I've started off by trying MyAudi and have created an account on the website and have downloaded the app. I'm now at the stage in the app where it asks me to verify myself, so I choose to do that via SMS. Once I get the mTAN code via text, I enter it into the app and all it does is ask for it again and again as if I've entered it wrong. Which I've not!

So far I've repeated this several times by requesting new mTAN codes and have even reinstalled the app and tried again .

Strangely though, I seem to be verified on the desktop (website) but this doesn't sync to the app?

The same issue - tried a number of attempted using my phone number and work email address. I get the code but the website rejects it.

I'm collecting the car later today and was trying to get ahead of the game so I've not entered my PIN into the car yet - wonder if that is the problem and the website/app just have crummy error handling. If I can't get it to work, I'll have the dealer verify my account when I'm in...

I had to completely delete my myAudi account and app and then restart from scratch before it would all work properly, give that a try!

Hi mate, thanks for your reply. I'd be Keen to hear how you get on as my situation sounds exactly the same. I've not entered my PIN into the car yet either.

I've just tried to enter my PIN into the car and it accepted it however I'm not down as the key user of the vehicle. For that you need a 10 digit vehicle code which is apparently found on a tag attached to your key. I didn't get this tag with either of my keys.

I just spoke to Audi who said they'll have to have another one shipped out to me.

I can't believe how many verification processes are associated with getting a ****** app to work. I've actually lost track of all of the hoops I need to jump through.

Oh, and the app still doesn't think I'm verified whereas the website and the car do?!
