Hi all, bought my second Audi A3 a few weeks back. It's a thirst 2003 3.2 v6 Quattro model.

Just getting them rusty calipers tidied up and resprayed but can't find the correct torque settings for all the bolts anywhere and would you recommend replacing the high torque carrier bolts that fix the actual caliper to the wheel hub?

Also looking at doing oil change as I think it's due, I've got some 5w-40 petronas synthium 3000AV that I put in my 1.9tdi left, would this be okay to use? I will be changing again yearly or 6,000 so if it isn't rated long life that's not an issue. It's says "VW 502.00/505.01/505.00"

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Caliper bolts are 80 ft lbs and yes or you could clean the old threadlock off and re use with fresh Loctite maybe (not sure how folks feel about that).
5w 30 is the recommended oil grade , 40 maybe too thick when cold.

Oh and welcome aboard I have a 2004 3.2 called "FrankenAudi"

Thanks, Around 110Nm? I just read somewhere that you should replace carrier bolts due to high torque may snap when replacing old ones but wanted others opinions before needlessly sourcing and buying new. Don't suppose you have the torque setting for the 7mm Allen guide bolts and the t55 bolts that fix the 2 pieces of the caliper together?

Ahh, no worries I'll buy some decent 5w 40 then if that's what is recommended.

Thanks for your reply

I wouldn't have any issues cleaning up and re-using the bolts, have done with no problems.
Welcome to the forum, my one's a 55 plate called 'Merlin'.

I'll check tonight on the other torque settings if you still need them ?

Earlier post I said caliper bolts - I was wrong !!
Brake Carrier to stub axle = 90nm then turn a further 90 degrees
Caliper to Brake Carrier = 35nm

Sorry to bother you again but when you say caliper to brake carrier, do you mean the 4x T55 bolts or the 2x 7mm guide pins?
It's the 4x T55 bolts that I'm struggling on torque settings on as it seems like they don't exist, don't suppose you know or have the rear brake caliper torque settings at hand too? Thanks for your help
