Hi all.

Can I please ask for help. I have been looking at a 1.5 A3 Saloon s-tronic for an October delivery. I've managed to get it down to £399 a month with a £2k deposit, Audi Uk putting in £600 and the dealer putting in £3600 which wipes out some negative equity as well.

I expressed an interest in a 2.0 A3 Saloon s-tronic but it was too much a month....... until Audi came back to me saying they have a floret silver 2.0 Saloon s-tronic Quattro Black Edition with tech pack, comfort & sound pack, matrix lights, folding mirrors, full nappa leather and they will retrofit a reversing camera at their expense. It is brand new with 7 miles on the clock and is ready now. They say the full cost is £38,900. They came in with a price of £465 a month to which I said it was more than I wanted to spend a month.

I jokingly said I would only spend £425 a month on the car and they've only said that they'll do it for £425. They say it's a 18.7% discount but it must be signed for and agreed by this Friday as they need a renewal to hit bonus.

So a £38,900 value car with £2k deposit. They'll take £7k off the car price put the same £3400 deposit down from them and £600 from Audi. Is this any good and if so is it too good to be true.

I'd really appreciate any help here.

Compared to the 1.5 deal this seems particularly good value.

I can't comment on this deal vs others out there in the market today however.

It may help if you say what term you have it over and what the GFV and APR are.

£10,400 off them and £600 of Audi = £11,000 is a massive amount!

As a rough idea I just priced up a Black edition S3 Tech Saloon with the s-tronic box:

1

If you use that figure and take YOUR £2,000 off that it comes to £33,733. Alter the parts you can on the Audi config tool to show £33,733 to finance and you get £427 per month:

BITE THERE ****** HAND OFF ASAP........stunning deal and it must be a ASN all time record that discount on a new A3

How much will you be paying for the car in total (say in theory if you want to keep it so including final bloon payment)?

I'm not sure if I'm missing something but that cash price seems incredibly high for an A3?? This is not an S3 but that is a similar monthly to an S3 on a 36 month PCP

Not with that amount of options mate there's at least £4/5k of them on that car

There's £5.3k of extras and I've got £2.2k negative. Getting v nervous and worried now. TBH it's all a bit confusing all the figures flying around.

i reckon dealers give with one hand and take with the other, the only important figure ultimately is the total amount you'll pay.

So the APR is 4.9%. The monthly payments are £425.61. The final figure is £15,841.30. As far as I work out that it's £36,270.58. I panicked on that figure as it seems high but I suppose it's the 4.9% that's added the extra.

I guess if your happy with that figure then why not, but for me personally I would be holding out for an S3 for that kind of money. Are you desparate to get rid of your current car now? Could you not wait until your out of neg equity? Is this a big enough upgrade to justify the cost?

Trust me you'll NEVER get a better than this..... Take it before someone else does

I've had a play with the numbers, all seems pretty reasonable.

Looks an excellent spec, and as you are probably aware, if you weren't in negative equity the deal could be sweeter.

But personally if it's what you WANT and your happy with the payments and the deal, then go for it.

When i specced my A3 SB Quattro BE (in Floret also), my car was as expensive as an S3 non-BE. But i wanted the cheaper runner costs, insurance etc and my dealer done an epic deal, and the cost was around £30k from £35k, with decent monthly payments.

I put your model A3 Saloon BE and a S3 Saloon BE in the coast2coast configurator, and the S3 BE comes out at £3200.00 more expensive, this was roughly the same difference when i was looking, which pushed the car out of my comfort zone.

And if there going to stick a rear cam in too, happy days.

I'd go for it.

That's a cracking deal as others have said mate! As long as you can afford the monthlies and it doesn't comprise you doing 'other' stuff & you don't have to worry about the payments then go for it!!!

Seems like a go-er to me, I'd rather the 2.0 than the 1.5 at any rate, and the deal seems surprisingly good, especially seeing as it'll wipe out your current negative equity, and potentially leave you in good stead come the end of your term (the GFV looks OK to me).

That's an astoundingly good deal. I thought I did well on my car, but that's a very good discount indeed. The likelihood of you doing better is minimal to non-existent. The likelihood of you even matching that deal again is vanishingly small. If you want an A3, this looks like a good way to get one.

I thought I did well in getting 14% off a cabrio, but that deal is just too good to turn down. As others have said, if it's the car you really want, don't waste any more time.

Out of interest on what car and how far into the deal?

Audi take the P on px prices. They are offering me £19k for my S3 (yet selling exactly the same car/year/colour/more miles for £25k!!!) and that would be with me buying another Audi from them! Mazda offered me £21,500, Mike Brewer £21,760 even we buy any car are offering more at £20,000.

I guess if your happy with that figure then why not, but for me personally I would be holding out for an S3 for that kind of money. Are you desparate to get rid of your current car now? Could you not wait until your out of neg equity? Is this a big enough upgrade to justify the cost?
What I was thinking! Hence the quote I did on a BE S3 saloon above.

Think it's happening! Should be picking it up tomorrow!!

On a downer thou, there is a small mark on it already. You can feel it if you run your nail across it. Any advice or does anyone know of anyone in the West Sussex area that could have a look at it?

Many thanks all. Just gutted about the 3mm mark on the wing. It's a lovely car I must admit. Drives v nicely and although I loved the lowness of the s-line suspension when I had my Sportback, the sport ride on the Saloon is so much more comfortable.

I've done the Sportback, fancied something different.

Can I ask about the B&O sound system...? I've got it specced and have the B&O speakers, woofer ect.. in the car and it all sounds luvvly but on the YourAudi site the build shows ......Is this right?

That doesnt say you have B and O? Does it say it inside the car on the speakers?

B&O speakers have an LED strip round them that glows in the dark.
