I'm sure I am not the only one to notice the price of used diesel cars plummet (and petrol's skyrocket) since since this scare malarkey where the government is telling us they're going to do something to take old diesels off the road despite giving incentives for "clean diesels" not so long ago.

I'd quite like an electric car but with what's happening who knows what the future will hold for them, from what can be seen maybe we're all better off buying classic petrol car's (or maybe that's going into some rich getting richer poor getting poorer conspiracy as unfortunately not many of us can afford to own a garage filled with big petrol classic cars).

the reason its plummeting is because of the scare factor, nobody wants to buy a 10k desil and then have to sell it for 2k to the govt.
but as a TDI owner, I asked around, my friend is a bus mechanic. he said it won't effect people outside of London, me being in Dartford and working in new ash green im sorted, but even then how can the govt afford to pay off all the desil's on the road over 50% of them are desils now. it won't happen, they cant just ban them when they promoted them for years. I think its just to shut up them pollution nutters. I mean co2 is bad for the environment and nox is bad for people. but we only have one environment so they cant win. don't worry about it unless your in a emission zone

Don't you believe it, once other cities see what's happening in London most of the other big cities will follow suit- raises money too. I've just sold my beloved 3.0 Quattro, two reasons 1 I'm not doing the miles any more < 6k and the price drop in the last two months as been around £1.5k

If you want a £50,000 hatchback and mileage range of just 100 miles (as long as you don't turn on the lights or too many other things) buy an electric car. :haha:

Hahaha funny mate

Anybody having a "panic fire sale" of an 8V 2.0TDI (180 BHP 5-door), up to two years old, around 30k miles - preferably Black type edition with full leather and goodies - I'll take it off yer hands for £2,000 :glee:
