Wondered if anyone could offer any opinions on these photos about the jacking point on an A3. It's my Dads car that he's had delivered today but I'm not quite sure whether this looks right. Marks both sides towards the rear.

It's a sport model and not an SLine so it's not got the extra side skirts but I don't know whether this looks like it's been jacked incorrectly.

The cars been a nightmare so far was perfect when we went to look at the car last weekend, gets delivered today first thing we see is a load of scratches on the rear bumper! Complained to the dealership who denied all knowledge so my Dads waiting for a business manager to call him back tomorrow! I've attached a picture of what we found when it turned up too! :wtf:

Can't say for the sills, as mine didn't look like that when I first got it. Did noticed one side had a slight indent when washing / polishing but it was hidden. It looks like they've put some stress on the side so could be resulted in that. Also yeah those are scratches and if the dealership can get them removed. Did you buy it from audi?

Thanks for the info, we've supplied the dealer with a few photos of the damage to see what they say. I'm convinced the sills shouldn't look like that but it's difficult to tell because my S3 had got the side skirts and the jacking point can just be seen underneath with a little arrow.

But yes the car was purchased from a large franchised main dealer who I'll leave anonymous for now. Strange thing is the car was in great condition when we test drove it a week ago so unsure what's happened to it since.

My Dads wishing he hadn't opted for the delivery to our home address now that was thrown in as part of the 'deal' because if we had picked it up at the dealers he would have noticed the damage there and then, problem was dealer is a 4 hour round trip so he thought he'd save the hassle!

That triangle mark is the jacking point marker for the rear of the vehicle, but the black vertical mark looks like a mark left by a jack. That is a PITA about the scuff marks but they look as if they can be buffed out. Does you fingernail rest in any of the the scratches, if it does it may have to sanded and painted.

Yeah I was thinking jacking marks because I know the one rear alloy had to be refurbed before delivery.

Took the car down to a local Audi bodyshop yesterday to assess the damage and they said that it would require a re-spray as the paint was too badly damaged to machine polish out. Unfortunately the photos don't really show the extent of the damage, it looks worse in person, just difficult to photograph with the bright sunshine and reflections yestersday!

The triangle mark on the sill is the jacking point, and if you look underneath you will see a thickened seal to put the jack.

Hmm.....methinks they have damaged that rear panel whilst changing that wheel out for refinishing.... jacking issue with the wheel lying against the panel? I would definitely be asking the dealer to pay for the repair...no harm in asking.
