Can someone with some know how please explain the faults I have received?

Current issues: Disconnected battery for couple hours and now Start/Start does not work. At 1st I got a message saying "Automatic start/stop: system fault! Function unavailable". Restarted car and now it still does not work but I do not get the error. I can turn it off and on with the switch which makes no difference. When I come to a stop at lights, I get the (A) with a line through it symbol, disappears when you drive off

Other issue is I can not get my reverse camera to work. I tried to install it today and did a long write up but dont want to post till I get it working. VCDS says "no basic settings". Any ideas?

All help greatly appreciated.

First things first... Clear your DTC's and then run an Auto Scan again but with the Display Freeze Frame box untucked. Then take your car for a short drive. On your return Auto Scan the car again and post up the results. This will remove any non issues:
  • I believe the TPMS error should not return.
  • I believe the Park/Steer Assist DTC should not return.
  • I believe the Can Gateway Battery Monitoring Error will not return.
From the looks of what you have posted up and described so far:
  • Your steering angle sensor has lost it's stored settings and needs to be reset as power was removed from it's volatile memory.
  • Your new Camera module is not coded correctly.
... But lets see what the results of a no freeze frame clear and scan are before going any further.

Thanks for the reply. Very grateful for your knowledge. Unfortunately I wont be able to get near a VCDS for a while as I was using a mates quick I literally just returned. I didnt get a chance to turn off "freeze frame" but I went into park/steer assist controller and noticed I forgot to code for rear view camera and hey, the error is gone. Also my stop start works too now (this started working without any VCDS change after an over night sleep). My latest scan shows the following. I would assume suspension electronics needs reverse camera coding too but when I entered the module, "long coding" was greyed out. With regards to my camera, do you think it needs calibrating? I tried to do something in the 6c camera "basic settings" and was lost but took a log of one of the things I tried to fiddle with. Good news re the Start/Stop and Park/Steer Assist :)

Unfortunately I cannot help re the Susp. Elect as I am yet to see a car equipped with this and have no stored data to reference :( but yes, it seems it will need coding in order to compensate for all possible ride hight's.

Strange that the Long Coding was unavailable. This might be a limitation with the current version of VCDS for MQB cars. All the successful camera installs I have seen so far have been on cars without mag ride. The current VCDS Beta might allow access to the long coding tho as the software has improved support for MQB modules. For cars without Mag Ride all thats needed VCDS wise is:
  • 6C > Add to Can Gateway Installation List
  • 5F > Byte 19 > Bit 4 = Active
  • 10 > Byte 2 > Bits 4-5 = 10
Might also be worth checking that the following adaptation is set to coded within 19 - Can Gateway (not 100% sure if needed tho):
  • (108)-Installation list; specified installations-Node_0x6C
Re the calibration issue, the camera should be working at this point but may not be 100% accurate "guide-line wise"... but should only be off by a few %. Calibrating looks to be a complete pain as you will need a VAS 6350 reference tool to do it properly:

To be honest I think it can be left alone as people without Mag Ride have not needed to calibrate and maybe you could get your dealer to do it next time the car is in for a service...

I have no clue whats going on with your S-Tronic. Am guessing this errors are historic and might due to your battery being disconnected.
 
Thanks for the detailed reply... really really appriciated. I will try it next time I get my hands on a VCDS and reply back. I assumed that if the camera needed calibrating it may not display but it's reassuring to know that it'll show a picture at least.

From the scan am I right to assume my wiring is ok? I am confident that my wiring is connected to the right places but maybe it's broken whilst installing?! I wouldn't have thought it through up a "no basic settings" fault thought or would it?!

Thanks again. So hard to find info on this. When (hopefully not if) ill include in my DIY and give you some credit ;)

Would not hurt to go over all the physicals and test your wires for continuity while you don't have access to VCDS.

To be honest I am not sure how the MMI / Car would behave with a coded but absent camera module. I can see from your coding that you have rear sensors (possibly fronts also) and have the Optical Parking System active so I would have expected the MMI screen to pop up and the display to change to "Radar" regardless of if the camera was working or not.

Did you source OEM cabling, 3rd party or did you do a boy scout job and make your own?

When I spoke to audi UK they said they did not do cabling for the retrofit so I sourced third party. The cabling I received looked good as the wires had printed on the sleeve CAN high and CAN low for instance.

After taking off "rvc low" in 5f, my radar screen (I have both front and rear sensors) came up automatically again but what I have is "rvc mid" I believe which generally said as "high". It's the same retrofit kit as you get from kufatec but I sourced else where.

The unit is definately getting power as gets warm and I'd assume the CAN side is wired corrected as when I code 6c address it let's me when I do "do it" and does NOT say "can not communicate with device"

I am tempted to give the car to audi as they will have the full support with full support for the chassis when I can get my head around paying their rates haha

Would be surprised if Audi accept the job to be honest. Most dealers tend to shy away from retrofit jobs, especially if the parts are sourced from elsewhere.

Am willing to bet there is some coding that has been missed due to Ross-Tech maybe not having a full set of label files. Am gonna have a dig around to see if I can find some factory coding for the Cam unit. Will also see what I can get out of both Ross-Tech and Vag-Tech.

Yes and no. VCP at this moment in time can do more than VCDS with the MQB platform, well more than Ross-Tech will allow anyway, but VCDS is better labeled and supported.

Where you working on / having works done to the car at this time? I would suggest clearing the DTC and the running a new Autoscan with the Freeze Frame option Unticked in order to clear this issue. If it returns then you could have a fibre cable / network issue or loose connection on the rear of the MMI unit.

The following looks like an issue with the related motor and or related parts:

1 Fault Found:
328964 - Motor for Front Air Distribution Flap
B1091 71 [008] - Actuator stuck

Could be worn or need lubrication. Worst case could be that there is a screw or loose part.

Regarding the LED Headlamp Power Output Stage - No Signal DTC’s, I am not sure as to what these could be to be honest.
 
I have the same A/C error code although it seems to be working fine. Anyone else had this and resolved the fault ? ......

I found that by using VCDS to run the distribution flaps on a text cycle seems to unstick them.

Good call mate thanks !!

VCDS wouldn’t let me run the test cycle unfortunately I got a module not supported error but I then monitored the flap channels and manually messed with the air con buttons to open and close the flap (cycling between 0% and 100%) and it seems to have cured the fault :-
