yourAudi - Track New Car Order

City of Sunderland was meant to be going to Tyne! Was hoping mine was going to be on that one but now it's going to Grimsby!

Fortunately am in Mallorca for 2 weeks, but would love for it to be ready for when I get home!

At the moment there are 3 boats heading to Grimsby (City of Sunderland, Neckar Highway and Nordic Ace) and none to Sheerness.
Wtf is going on!??

Weser Highway only ship in Emden, going to Immingham.

I was hoping online chat could tell me that it was unloaded by now (which it would have to be as the ship it was on has left lol) but they had no other information. And with sales closed over the weekend I'll just have to wait for either the tracker to update itself before Monday or ask them on Monday.

The tracker will update itself, dont worry^
If it doesn't keep calm, the main battle is making it to UK shores at all!
You'll have your car within 2 weeks max.

2 weeks! You realise that's longer than it took to reach the UK from the factory.

Anyone else have a boat arrive over the weekend? When did you say status 40?

Quick question to those discussing location of car on boats; how have you been certain which ship your car is on? Did you manage to get the VIN check working for the cargo?

Thanks

I believe sales can confirm which boat the car is on but it's the weekend so we can't check. I went 39 on Thursday so assumed it was on Makahassar Highway arriving Friday night and I should have checked but didn't bother. Logically my car must be in the port now parked up but until the VW team in charge of logistics are back on Monday I'll guess it won't update.

Although that does make me wonder who was driving the cars off the boat?...

I tried every possible way to check shipping info with the vin, but I do not believe it is possible for KESS ships without speaking to Audi CS.

My car went status 39 early this morning, and so I think it was on the Neckar Highway that arrived Grimsby at 18:01 today.

It will be interesting to see when your status updates to 40; I imagine that ours will happen the same time probably Monday night when the tracker updates, but maybe the sales office can confirm its arrived before in the day.

5 days to collection but don't matter how beautiful the view from the pool at sunset I cant wait to get home and collect my new shiny car

Yup, will keep you informed.

I am nearly sure that my car was on the Neckar Highway the got to Grimsby 6pm yesterday. That ship has just left Grimsby to go to Malmo, so they hopefully unloaded the UK VW/Audis overnight.

Not got code 40 yet, but we know there is a lag.

I doubt there would be much difference with port procedures on a weekend. I think they run operations 24/7 at these ports, but being a weekend might slow down loading onto road transport.

I reckon I should get code40 tomorrow, and I'll call the dealer (Listers) to see what likely collection date is. Not sure what the weekend collection/ finance lag is for me yet.

There's definitely a lag mine has been status 60 for 2 days now and it doesn't take 2 days to do a 3 hour drive!

My order still shows as cancelled in the tracker and won't re-add, but the dealer says it still tracks for him normally on his system. I won't know more until Monday as to why the tracker has gone nuts for my car though, and it is still at Emden, which is no great surprise as there haven't been any more boats to Sheerness, and only to Grimsby. There are 2 boats on the way to Emden arriving today though, Makassar Highway and EMS Highway.

Hopefully your dealer is right. They should then really give you first priority on next Sheerness ship.

You're right about Makassar Highway and EMS Highway, they should both be in Emden this afternoon and tonight respectively.

There is also Rockies Highway in Emden right now, just arrived 10:30 today. No info on destinations yet, apart from Weser Highway leaving Emden today for Immingham/Grimsby.

The thing is I want to go visit the dealer as soon as it reaches 40 to tell them in person I want the paperwork done; but I can't do that until its in the UK.

Once its in port and cleared customs its on the dealer to get it to them and sort out the rest! I am keen to get this bit done by Tuesday so the car has a fighting chance of maybe being sorted for Friday. But waiting on the tracker; or at least to talk to Sales which will be tomorrow.

Shipping news update, with 3 ships in Emden:

Ems Highway has destination Grimsby.

Rockies Highway and Makassar Highway have no destination... yet.

You being one day ahead the whole way has been super useful, and you call out all info, which is great.

I work in oil exploration, so I use MarineTraffic a LOT. Not a big burden to check Emden and share to everyone else here.

Everyone on this thread has shared loads of good information.

But I will go into retirement from here as soon as I get my box-fresh Audi S1 (apologies for crashing A/S 3 thread). After all, it's not legal to text n drive! And I might be driving quite a bit once I get an S1 :)

Well let's hope we either go to 40 tonight or that CS tomorrow confirms we are in the port.

It would be odd if they say that we are still on the ship!

Did you get the 40 last night?

Online chat has confirmed my car is at Sheerness; I have emailed the dealer and see if they can get my car to them ASAP.

Will I get it this week or will it be next week? We shall see.

I hope they reply to me today but if I don't hear by 5 ill be phoning up... because there is no reason not to be able to get the car this week when it is only 1 hour to the dealer from sheerness!

CS says it can take a week to get a transport and the 3-5 days to reach the dealer - so if we were going off the slowest possible scenario it would be end of next week.

I think the tracker is having difficulties, as mine has been stuck on quality control for about 4 days - yet live chat said it's en route to Emden (should actually be there now).

Looks like they've upgraded tracker again, as mine's lost the 360 degree view (which worked poorly anyway), and shows a little s3 along the top of the various stages - looks cool!

EMS Highway to Grimsby

As promised - my dealer called me this morning. He's confirmed the car is in Sheerness and it'll be with him tomorrow.

Collection day is Friday, arranged for 08:30 and will be taking the day off :) He confirmed back to me without prompt there will be no PDI preparation - no wash, just remove the white transport vinyl and that's it :)

That annoys me... because if your dealer can get the car to him tomorrow then mine should be able to as well!

And they may well do that but I have a feeling that they wont!

I'm curious about the fact you don't want them doing anything to the car. I understand why- dealers can actually cause swirls and damage and you would rather a professional detailer sorted out the car but from my perspective I wouldn't want a dirty car and then have to wait for that detailed before I could admire it!

So the dealer emailed me back and said he will do everything to get the car to me this week.

He said the transport order has been raised and that it gets delivered to their prep centre in Croydon (even closer to Sheerness lol).

He said he will be in touch when they have a date the car will arrive with them. So I will leave it now until Wednesday and then reach out again for an update if I haven't heard anything.

Also he said they can't wait to give me the keys... I will take that as my pestering is working well lol

(Tracker still says on the way to UK; I can only assume it will update tonight to arrived in the UK).

No idea. The guy at my dealership has his day off today, so contacted customer services by phone to get more info and this is what I got
1) No idea why my order says cancelled in the tracker
2) No idea how to get it added back
3) Car is still at Emden and not assigned to any boats (for example Makassar Highway is heading to Sheerness today)
4) Can no longer give an estimate on when it will get on a boat
5) Car has been marked as a priority since Friday (clearly does nothing)

I am thinking of going for a Merc test drive this weekend in order to plan a back-up option, because if my car has gone missing or this drags on too long, I will not start the whole order process again from the beginning.

I think I would ask for any deposit back and take your business elsewhere. As you are clearly thinking about.

What useless customer service. And it annoys me that we always have to speak to the individual salesperson at the dealer. They should have the manager take this over and deal with it properly. Not a good advert for them is it? Things do go wrong, that's life, but it is the way organisations handle the problem that makes them stand out.

I'm angry just thinking about how they have messed you about!

I guess given the dealers are franchise, they all have slightly different ways of approaching the acquisition of vehicles. The other thing I've learnt is that Audi AG and Audi UK buy/sell the vehicle from each other and this is part of the process we don't see. Albeit back office and more often than not without issue, is another link in the chain that affects getting vehicles out of ports.

In respect of it being detailed professionally, you acknowledge the exact reasons for having it detailed - a third party detailer is afforded more time and therefore able to rectify any issues that may be present. For the dealership not to get a chance to introduce any further issue will only present the car in a better position to the chap who'll bring it 'up to standard'. Given the detailer is only having the car for three days, it's not going to be the end of the world. I've waited near on 7 months for the car and I intend on owning it for 6-8 years, so in the grand scheme of things, no biggie. Also, I suspect I'll spend the best part of a day go through all the infotainment and technology options.

{snip}

Dealers love to give cars to customers, of course they do - it's how they realise their targets I suspect :)

So in the last page we have one car guaranteed to be collected Friday, one car (mine) maybe this week but could be next, two cars that are in the UK but not updated on tracking (just like me - so they could still turn up this week), one that's waiting for a boat for a few days and one that was parked in the Carpark next door to the port and no one has noticed seriously call Audi UK CS and complain! Make a fuss. Ask for a manager. Ask for compensation.

This should help pass the time for a few minutes...

What a dull job for the dock workers

My story so far is:
Status30 15 June
Status38 19 June
Status 39 24June
Currently still on 39 in tracker, but clearly unloaded from ship overnight 24/25 June.

And just got this email from dealer today, when I chased:

"... your car is Status 40 on the logistics system, which means it has been unloaded off a ship in a UK Port, it can sit there for a maximum of 10 working days before I can put any pressure on Audi to transport it here. However they usually move them prior to 10 days, so I would expect the car in the second week of July, which is still a lot quicker than we had originally expected.

I normally contact you once the car is loaded for transporting, and the transport company inform us of its delivery to our PDi centre where it will be prepared for the road, and that’s when we will get you in to do the Finance paperwork etc.

So it’s close, but a couple of weeks away still."

I'm ok with that, because this is still 4 weeks ahead of the estimate I got on ordering.

I don't want to annoy you - but its up to the dealer to raise the transport order. My understanding (which could be wrong) is that once they raise the order it takes a couple of days not 10.

However if it was likely to take over a week then it would make no sense for the dealer to tell me he will try to get it to me this week.

Also second week of July! I hope not; I would push them more. I would be very annoyed if I had to wait 2 more weeks when its at the port in this country. Ill be annoyed if I have to wait until next week.

Although part of me thinks the car isn't likely to reach the dealer before Wednesday.

Wife ordered a cabrio in early June. She got an email today giving the order number and inviting her to track the progress of the car in YourAudi. So she's set up her account this evening and then tried to track her order, but is getting the response that her order number and postcode don't match Audi UK's records. Is this par for the course or does it perhaps take a while for the account to be set up?
