Have the 1.4tfsi COD and looking at trying to get a better sound without affecting the warranty, what options are there, if any?

Any non standard modification, will effect your warranty.

The thing I have learnt from Audio guys, is that if you want to improve your sound. Its best to look at a complete package i.e speakers, subwoofer, amplifier and processor.

The results in the long run are far better than just say for example, only up rating the door speakers.

But also it depends what you want from the Audio, because if your the kind of person that likes bassy tunes then a cheap subwoofer kit maybe all you need!
(If this is you then I would recommend looking at the baby JL Audio subs)

Hope this helps

If it is exhaust, there are reversible options like decat etc but a lot of hassle and not completely undetectable I don't think (cuts. welds, etc.)

If it's audio (I think OP means exhaust though), can probably change speakers etc without Audi knowing unless they dig deep into it

I was the first to guess right! What do I win?

Means the world coming from you lol. As for the OP's question, you can try to install an induction kit for your engine. That would be a more easier bolt on mod where as with exhaust it would yield the better noise but there would be traces if cuts or modifications done to the car. However if its leased car, you have to run the risk of Audi terminating your contract if you attempt to go under warranty work.

I have the 1.4COD and I like the engine noise (or lack of!). Under hard acceleration (OK no sniggering from your S3 owners!) there is a little snarl but the rest of the time I delight in the tranquility. But of course each to his own.

Interesting you should say that. I had the 1.4 COD as a courtesy car whilst a seal was being fixed around a door handle. Driving around town in heavy traffic it was a very pleasant car to drive -easy and very quiet.

IMO if you were looking for a sporty sounding car then you chose the wrong 'un. Be satisfied with the great car you've got ........ or trade it in for an S3 with farts! :whistle2:

To be honest it doesn't make much difference when coming to trade in time. The dealer didn't even look at my car!!

It still had lowering springs and tinted front windows... went straight onto the forecourt exactly as I gave it to them

Just not sure if it will crash too much with the daytona grey may leave it as is!
