Hi,

Ive just purchased a 2010 A3 and would like to swap out the Concert head unit to a RNSE head unit with bluetooth connectivity.

Could someone please point me in the direction of what I need to do this.

Thank you.
Bryan

You'll need a GPS antenna and nav disc for the nav to work. You'll also need an adapter (and rewire some wires from quadlock) for existing aux to work. Not sure about the bluetooth connectivity though.

bluetooth works fine once you set it up when you have ur rnse installed .

Thank you for the replies. I assume I'll need to run a cable and install a mic for the bluetooth, is there a specific one I need?

Does your car currently have Bluetooth? If not you'll need the Bluetooth module for the phone to connect to. I think they are roughly £250 new but available for cheaper on eBay - just make sure you get the correct one for the MY of the car. If you retro fit BT you'll need it to be coded so the RNSE, multi-function wheel works with it. The BT module, mine was placed under the carpet above the passengers footwell (http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/guide-to-retrofit-oem-bluetooth-with-rns-e.150317/)

In my previous A3 MY09, I retro fitted the RNSE. Between the 2 middle vents there is a wee cubby hole which I stuck the GPS ariel in.

Does your car have factory AUX point by the handbrake? If so this will need to be 'repinned' to the 32 pin AV connector - it's easy to do. This will also need to be coded but for some reason mine was fine. This is the site I followed: http://audiretrofit.quinlivan.net/rnseauxin.

Once you have the RNSE fitted you may notice that the radio stations drop out (they'll come back!) but this is due to the different afield between RNSE and non. I did the ariel upgrade (http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/thread...ystem-use-with-rnse.67896/page-4#post-2854057) which cost about £90 in total but it didn't really help much. In my current S3 with factory fitted RNSE the stations still drop out.

Thank you Samuel. I just had a quick look on eBay, there are a fair few but can't see the model year on the units data plate, how would I know weather its a 2010 model? Also does the RNS-E have to be the same year model too?

there is a few lads on here aelling there rnse in the classifieds worth a look

Hi @bryan eidins - no the RNSE doesn't need to be the same year as the car but you should look for the model with the gloss black bezel which is the later/latest model (it will have the Media button).

Re the Bluetooth - I'm really not sure what to look for to be honest. There is a couple of articles on here where members have needed to source a different unit for compatibility. I'm sure someone else will be alone to confirm shortly.
