Hi all I'm on my 2nd oil pump / balance shaft set up and thought I had good oil pressure then used a different gauge and in fact I have low oil pressure approx 15-20 psi when warm on idle should be 30 plus, now this issuse has caused my engine to knock now so my question is what else effects oil pressure worn n rings ? Worn big ends worn main bearings

I'm at a cross road now as to weather I fix engine replace it or break/scrap car off

Any info very welcome

As if been looking on aks tuning and I can get big end main and thrust for just over 100 delivered

Big end / main bearings are usually the thing that cause knocking and low oil pressure. You may be able to improve the situation but may be a better option to look for a second hand engine that has no issues.

Gas that kit is just chain and tensioner it's nothing to do with oil pump other then a new pulley on the end , and yea Karl my option is replace engine or fix this one another engine will be 500 plus or fixing this one well if it's just bearings etc it's just over 100 quid

Its not the actual oil pump cassette that fails it's the components that drive it that fail , so you have to upgrade those parts to avoid yet another failure .

I don't agree with that buddy if the cogs and bore go out of tollerrance no matter what components you fit it still won't pump right

It's just a completely **** design by vw :(
