Hello Audi people

Losing my virginity here

Just a quick question, I've got new brakes for my A3 TDi, 312mm fronts and 288 backs. Dimpled and groved with Bembo pads

Question is will I need to get new carriers? And is there anything else I'd need?

My car is a 2012 A3 S-line Black Edition

If you upgrading them you will need whole brake system: RIGHT caliper + carrier, discs and pads, 2 liters of brake fluid (to flush whole system and get rids of bubbles), and new flexi pipes (cheap and worth doing meanwhile changing calipers) meanwhile you doing the job. on A3 you got several brakes measurements for both front and rear.

How come I'll just need the right caliper? I've read that the caliper doesn't need changing.

Also where is the best place to get the carrier?

you won't get the carrier on it's own unless some scrapyard (unlikely), audi dealer, here on forum maybe got some, or manufacture it if you know how to (can calculate right thickness for resist braking forces that going on it), but normally you buying whole kit carrier and caliper.

Thanks for the replies.

I had a look myself yesterday while at work (don't tell the boss) I found some reconditioned calipers with the 312mm carriers for what I think is a good price.

Think i'll do a buy on my dinner, then it'll be time to look into braided hoses and some 5 dot brake fluid

5 dot? as far as i know a3 uses dot 4 (should be written on brakes fluid cap), take 2 liters of it.
