Tdi/ dpf issues

I have just sold my 3.0 tdi because I'm not doing the miles like I use to, but I do miss the Tdis.But with modern tdi 2014> are they more tolerant on short journeys . Petrol cars seem much more costly to run tax/ mpg etc Help please!!

A modern tdi doing short journeys will clog the dpf .

Obviously there's a way to fix that permanently .
 
Ahh, but the Mot is getting tighter. I did dpf delete in the early days when mot regulations were relatively lax now they are looking for part numbers and welded joints that shouldn't be there....

Nope , they just look to see it's there .

If it's got a window cut on the blind engine face side , pass .
 
If buying a new car and you do low annual mileage it makes sense to buy petrol. MPG is not that relevant for low mileage. The problem comes with the 2nd hand market where they is often shed loads of diesels at very competitive prices
