Hello Guys,

As the title states, im having an Erratic Idle issue after the car warms up ( 5mins after its turned on). The vehicle is an Audi A3 8P 2007 2.0 TFSI BWA engine code.

Sometimes after putting the car in neutral (6 spd manual) the revvs climb rarely up to 1500 RPM and just drop that is also very erratic.

I had the engine out and have put it back in the car so here are the following new items fitted; im running out of parts to replace and this has really exacerbated me; I have talked to the rather unhelpful and rude tuner which he also informed me that they bump the idle up to 1000 RPM as opposed to 800 RPM; I should also mentioned that upon scanning the car with VCDS the car has no fault codes:

  • TTE480
  • New TSI injectors (Dynodrome) so I unpinned and re-pinned the plugs to suit; I have made sure that the plugs marry up with the wiring loom -'ve and +'ve wires etc..
  • New MAP sensor
  • New Fuel Pressure regulator 180 Bar
  • New Fuel Pressure Sensor
  • New PCV
  • New Inter-cooler and Pipework
  • Done the Carbon Clean
  • New Clutch master slave cylinder
  • I have put new R8 coil packs with new NGK Plugs
  • new Carbon Canister and N80 Valve (approx 3,000.00 KM old)
  • the Brake booster vacuum line that run along the firewall has been replaced
  • New O2 sensors pre and post cat
  • I put fresh fuel in the tank BP Ultimate with Octane booster as the fuel was around 8 month old at the time.
  • Cam follower is also roughly 3,000.00 KM old too
  • Sump was been cleaned.
  • Clutch is also roughly 4,000.00KM old
  • I've done a compression test and each Cylinder is at 180 PSI
  • Thorttle Body is also a New VDO one.
  • New Temperature Senders and Thermostat roughly 1,500kms ago.
  • Complete new Miltek and Supersprint exhaust system

If you see the below videos I've uploaded too..

I read threads but there is no definitive answer; some saw changing the crank and cam position sesnros solves the issue or the inlet manifold.. or even the injector wiring loom. Please guys if anyone can shed some light on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

engine is an IE engine (JE pistons 10:1 and Ferrea +1mm valve train kit, calico bearings etc..) with a girdle kit had a GTX3076 but got FOD'ed so i put a TTE480...

So you guys think its a vacuum leak somewhere? cause i was gonna go and change the cam and crank position sensors

Thank heavens for that lol.

yeah im not that stupid heh... Ill try booking it in to get a smoke test as i dont have that kind of equipment at home and im running out of parts to change only have 5 sensors and im out...

out of curiosity though when putting the exhaust manifold gasket on; it can only go one way isnt it... I've also checked the turbo and transfer case for any potential exhaust dust but its clean as a whistle.

Are you running a PCV delete? you can get a lot of boost leaks if your running high pressures and it can split the the standard pcv valves.
