I did indeed mate, first time round had Gyeon MOHS followed by a coat of Durabead and an interior protection applied. The MOHS comes with a two year guarantee.

This time I didn’t bother so much with the interior as I do that myself every month or so with Swissvax leather care or Gliptone conditioner. Upped the exterior protection to Gyeon MOHS+ which comes with a 5 year guarantee. Maintenance wise I use a mix n match of Gyeon, Gtechniq, Swissvax and Nanolex products.

Why did you go with the Gyeon again mate did ye not fancy a change, kamikaze kit is supposed to be awesome bit of kit
To be honest l think getting the xpel self healing **** applied to my car is more important than a detail..... Can get that done later on in the year?

Not heard of the Kamikaze kit before now mate and my detailer chap didn’t mention it. The Gyeon stuff did what it said on the tin and virtually lasted 2 years so I thought I’d just stick with that brand.

What’s the xpel a paint protection film ?

It's a frickin expensive transparent self healing film that's applied over the selected car panels,it marks temporarily ie with stonechips, but it self heals but protects the paintwork 100% something along them lines lol

Not yet mate but it's on my list of detailing products for the new car
Think the full kits around £90.
And its always best to start using this product as soon as you can on new leather for protection

Jassy just go for the lot while it's in for PPF and get the full ceramic package also.
All panels, wheels, brake calipers front/back,exhaust tips, wheel hubs, leather and glass...job done then enjoy the thing.
It's going to be off the road for the film anyway so it makes sense.
Mines is up at Stirling now at Ultimateshine collection tomorrow evening hopefully.
I also got all my wheels refurbished and new tyres all round while it's sitting up there.IMG 1124IMG 1113IMG 1123

OK...Call me a sceptic....1200 quid for a saran wrap finish and another film that self heals after stone chips....I live to the North of the land of oil snake salespeople but these prices and claims are off the map. I wash my car, vacuum and clean the interior once a week. Polish and wax every 3-4 months. Interior leather seats cleaned and protected with Furniture Clinic UK Products (good stuff by thy way) twice a year. Claybar every Spring prior to polish and wax and it just costs my time and minimal costs for all products used. Plus I do get a bit of a joy out of doing it "my way"
Also the thought of any film covering the paintwork and the issues that it might cause, such as, stone chip or minor scratches that are not repaired after the film surface has been damaged would concern me.

I totally get PPF on sills and leading faces of wheel arches 911 style but dislike the visible edges when used on the front or is it more of a full clear wrap ? - any pics of this on an A/S 3 ?

I coming round to that same train of thought mate, just this morning l thought that £1200 could get me away another sneaky wee holiday in September lol but what's also in back of my mind is paying all that money for a paint colour.....l know topping up me tan will somehow win lol

Go for the both mate as I'm sure your tan will look great against the Voodoo blue, also with a nice crisp Vivian Westwood white shirt lol.
Honestly if the cars done right there's no edges as to say as there usually tucked.but you do get them but you have to look very closely to see them.
Mind it's there to protect the car not inhanse it in looks.
You wouldn't even no mines had it, when it was in a bump the front bumper looked well fecked, but after peeling it off there wasn't a mark on it,it was all on the protective film..
Also they inspect your car beforehand for the likes of stone chips, scrashes before PPF is even applied and made right before it is.
That's why people get it fitted before there new car even hits the road to avoid this if they can.
But yea I'd probably should of had a holiday instead lol.

One other thing to remember that if you have a minor accident that requires any bodywork repair. You will not be able to reapply that film until the paint finish has gassed off and that can take up to 6 weeks. Also, I can not believe that a film applied finish will look particularly good after 4 months of atmospheric/environmental pollution as I assume you can not polish this film, and if you can without damage, what then is the point of it.

Well it must be doing something right if the likes of Ferrari/Porsche/tesla/merc/Lamborghini/ Owners get it applied to brand new cars.
Also if your car has been sprayed with water based paints, and baked to dry which Audis are then the paint is cured in 72hrs.

Will the Gliptone product help reduce these creases?
I thought I was the only one that got irritated by this as I've not seen it mentioned before.

Never used the Gliptone mate, try Valet pro Leather Soap it's cheap but deep cleaning stuff, its my fave at the moment, and try furniture clinic conditioner... Lovely kit and it's not expensive as well

Ps...when using a leather conditioner on the seats, l have found using a damp cloth to apply it with, then a dry cloth to buff it off with gives great results, it won't make the creases look much better, but it will stop it getting worse

Yes it is,l forgot it's proper name and it's best used sparingly, it reduces friction on the leather, so the leather will be less prone to creases and Wear

That is a second on Furniture Clinic products and if you have light coloured leather their leather stain remover is great for removing dye transfer from jeans and other difficult dirt stains.
