As the title says i lasted 2 months before i had to change something. Pretty impressed i lasted that long to be fair...

So i wanted new wheels as was sick of the standard rotor wheels (now winter wheels). I tried for a good 3 weeks to get BBS RC alloy wheels to work as these are my all time favorite wheel. But it was just too much work. I was aware audi done a split rim version but didn't float my boat. So i settled for Rotiform RSE in Matte Gun Metal finish. I feel as though these are a close design to the BBS RC. I went with 19x 8.5 et45. I wanted the lower offset so they would fill the arch and sit further out.

I wrapped the new wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 asymmetric 3. So far so good these tyres seem to stick to the road like **** to a blanket.

Next was to lower it as it looked like a monster truck with new wheels on. So after having modified cars for years i was all to familiar with lowering springs and coilovers.

Springs will give me the drop but i will want more drop later i know i will ( has happened before )

Coilovers although fully adjustable i always feel coilovers are harsh and i have had budget and premium brands before and still feel there are to harsh

So i started looking at a Air Lift air ride setup. If i was to go down this route i would want it properly installed and have minimal impact in the ride and handling.

So i found a local guy who runs his own business called UNITSIXTEEN AUTOMOTIVE in darlington. He is a approved Air Lift installer. So i went and chatted to him and see what could be done.

The setup i went for was Air Lift performance setup up that included Fully Adjustable damping on all 4 corners and camber adjustment on the front shocks to get the best handling i could. I went with the latest 3P management along with 3/8 airline. New drop links and a 4 gallon tank and single compressor in the boot.

With the boot install i wanted it simple as not a fan of all this loosing your back seats and putting a tank there lol. So i went with a body colour half sunk tank and a false floor. Can still use my boot if i really need to (wont happen) LOL.

So i was very unsure as to how the ride was gonna turn out with me never having air ride before. When i collected the car the guy said take it out see what you think. WOW i was amazed as to how sporty and connected with the road it felt whilst having comfort from the airbags. I said to the guy when i returned its like riding on comfy coilovers lol. All the benefits of a lowered car with the comfort of a smooth ride. Obviously if you go too low and ride it its gonna be crashy but i have found a nice medium nice ride height and pretty dam comfy.

Very impressed with the hole setup and install can get the lows i want and also have the comfort. Having 5 fully programmable presets mean you can have certain heights depending on your conditions.

If your looking for a air install at a very competivite price give Jamie a call at UNITSIXTEEN AUTOMOTIVE...

Anyways enough of me babbling on here are some pictures. All comments welcome

Looks good, love the colour. Will have to do the mirrors black now to match the wheels and grille

Nice wheels, they suit the sharper lines of the S3.
