What have you done to your 8V today?

Your DSG transmission is equipped with a filter inside a fragile plastic housing. Unfortunately the plastic filter housing becomes brittle over time and often cracks during filter changes which are performed every 40,000 miles. Constructed of billet aluminum, the USP Cool Flow housing is far stronger than the factory plastic housing. Not only is the Cool Flow housing stronger, but it also incorporates cooling fins to cool the DSG fluid as it passes through the filter and housing. Installation is straight forward and requires no special tools. This is a must have for every DSG owner.

The South Side Performance TX Race Series Lifetime DSG Replacement Filter is manufactured using only the highest quality materials. 6061 T6 Billet Aluminum housing with a 100 micron Pleated Stainless Steel Mesh screen for superior filtration. High strength perforated center section and upgraded pressure relief valve to reduce fluid bypass. The SSP TX Race Series replacement filter will ensure proper filtration under the most severe conditions for the lifetime of your car.

Filter Housing Features:
  • CNC'd Billet Aluminum
  • Hard anodized clear for longevity
  • Uses OEM filter and o-ring
  • Limited Lifetime warranty

Stainless Steel Filter Features:
  • Stainless Steel Filter Features:
  • Pleated filter allows for 300% more surface area over the competitions "screen" style.
  • Reduces Bypass Operation for greater filtration
  • Provides Faster Oil Pressure and Start up
  • Reduces Oil pump drag in Higher HP Applications
  • Pleated construction allows for superior strength over competitors "screened style" filter.
    - Lifetime Warranty!

For those interested in getting an S3 look on their non Sline rear bumpers, I ordered one on aliexpress and of course the fitment is not the best. Trying to get at least a partial refund because it's basically useless and will need some drilling which I'm unwilling to do.

Yes that is the flip-side rob. It's having G-techniq on it I believe, like our Golf. So yes, much easier to clean afterwards - the wash mitt just glides over the surface. So can't wait for mine to be done.

I've done the opposite today, dropped mine off today at the detailer and it's pouring rain. Thankfully it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow when I pick it up (of course by saying that I've probably jinxed it and it will rain tomorrow :grinning: )

Took the car for its first service at a local specialist (Revo dealer of the year in 2015)

Very impressed! Drove the car very sensibly, let me know as soon as it was done, left me the leftover extra oil in the boot (I supplied the oil), updated the online service portal and even pointed out that my splitter has come loose on one corner (rivet has come back through the hole).

All in all a good experience :D

They had another S3 inside too and an S8!

Dare I ask how much Rob?

£30 each all in. I’d probably make most of that back if I sold my original handles to anyone looking to retrofit the ILP with the ambient light in the handles.

What water filter did you to for? I'm looking into getting one with water around my area being hard

Very strange but just got in from work and mine arrived.... Took two seconds to fit as it has tape on it but I'm not sure how long it will last on there...
Eh I like that look good adds some needed colour

That's cheap compared to the bigger ones! lol
I won't look at them then! :D Haha

Says 700 litres of water... I wonder how much gets used per wash?

Out of interest have you tried the whole "no spots, even if you don't try and dry the car" thing?

Yep, it gets rinsed as I go as the washing water is out of the tap which is rather hard water. The beads then just sit there until I'm ready to dry it properly, some evaporate and some don't. Haven't really noticed any spotting, even on the glass.

That is pretty impressive! Can it fight the sun too? Or does that still cause marks?

Didn't really notice any issues the other week and it hotter than ideal to be washing a car, overall I'm really happy with it.

i use a metal high temp paint, they can bascially make any colour you want well as long as it has a RAL code. its lasts ive had hammerrite but this stuff is quite quick drying so no drips, tip of the day use the sponge brushes much better and no brush marks like brushes or loose hairs from the brush. its a local place to me but i think they have stores all over and do online delivery aswell.

I had tiffany blue calipers on R32, and my mate has a lime green on is R which looks pretty good.
Nice weekend job just sand the calipers a bit just to add a bit of key for the paint.

oh and thankyou for doing the decals for the calipers, yeah agree look superb and glad i went for the black dont tell the missus i agree with her. Looks good but also not far off standard

Good stuff, I'll stick a bookmark on for them so if I do decide I want to give it a go I know where to get it from!

No worries, black was definitely the right choice but as you say, keep that quiet from the mrs.
