Hi all soo my s3 is poor at handling the back end wants to slide out when i go around a corner reasonably fast,
and doesnt really feel safe going 80mph+ anyone else have this problem? what is the best course to improve it??? any advice let me know
thanks

That's not right at all.

What tyres are you running
Has it been crashed ?

The s3 is known to under steer, but it certainly should feel planted at high speed,
Change the arbs, anti lift kit and coilovers will massively improve the handling

when you're at 80+mph, are you slowing for roundabouts?

Think he means even going straight... 80+ on a roundabout is going to make most people's bum hole twitch

haha iv got mid range tyres on in. and no it hasnt been in a crash, i was thinking of getting coilovers on it as iv been had a car where you feel like your going to lose grip around a corner doing over 65ish and it wasnt that sharp at all cant really explain it plus its 4 wheel drive so it should handle better surly..
ill order and coilovers and upgrade the bushes maybe?
thanks anyway

how are your tyre pressures... also have a look at your current tyres and see if there's any uneven wear that doesn't point to incorrect tyre pressures, it could then point to something else

no the tyres are all pretty brand new by the looks of things and cant see any wear on them just confusing really

The back end caught me out in Mexico once, fast into a round about - Rear stepped out unexpectedly (I caught it). Had new tyres too/pressures fine/alignment fine.

They really need uprated anti roll bars to help with the additional weight of the haldex system IMO.

That all depends on your mileage.

Go look at the size of your arbs, you'll see what I mean

Could be worth getting a four wheel alignment too unless you wanted to spend the cash on all new suspension.

My feeling was that the stock car understeers like a pig.

Needs good tyres(Michelin Supersports etc)
Coilovers.....I've tried kWv3 and Clubsports,and now runs a Bilstein B16 kit,with 235x20 rims
ARBs
ALK etc

It takes a lot of effort to get rid of the thing's tendency to go straight on through corners.

Check the Haldex is working and the 4 wd is actually Clicking in when it should.

I would say check that the 4WD system is working as it should. Then maybe look at tyres, tyre pressures and then wheel alignment, followed by your springs, shocks and and anti-roll bar.

As DJ_26 said I would start of checking all bushes, anti-roll bar, wheel alignment...
