Pick up trucks

thinking of buying a pick up for knocking around.. what make do you recommend and what should I avoid for around the 7k to 10k mark .. mitsibushi , Nissan , Isuzu, ford , Toyota etc
And it will be automatic

My friend used to have an l200 and I thought it was ace! Quite quick too for what they are and probably cheaper than allot of other options, my friends one had 4 or 5 seats too but not sure if that matters to your choice.

I was looking at one of these but then I drove one for the first time in about 10 year. I'd forgotten how soft and clumsy they are, not sure I could live with one every day.
