ive just noticed I have a little led light in each wing mirror, pretty certain it wasn't there before. I've just used carista to activate needle sweep and oil temp. :/

Does it flash orange when indicating?

Yes but only the top half of it u can see in the pic the indicator is on but the bright white led is still lit

Surely the LED can’t change colour - is it not just sunlight ?

If not I’d reverse Carista mods one by one.

Done that . And it's def white LED also the incators do not fully illuminate the strip now. It's both mirrors too! I've just tried to book in at my local Audi online and the earliest appointment is 13th July!!

13th July blimey ! It may be distracting whilst driving at night and a bit of an issue if the side repeater is not working properly. I’ve not used Carista in anger but have VCDS which keeps a change log is there any such facility in Carista ? Were the changes by one touch app or by long coding ?

Just pressed enable oil temp and needle sweep nothing else

Hmm and reversing it hasn’t sorted it that’s not good. If there’s a long coding option in the door module then that may be your best option if you can ontain the original coding from someone who has an identical spec car.

@DJAlix have you seen anything like this before ?

Not seen anything like this before lol. Very strange indeed. If you fancy a trip down to London I can return your car to stock via online software management. Audi are prolly gonna sting you for this if it a software related issue.

Word of advice, bin carista if you have a FL vehicle, or only use it for scanning for faults while out and about. I bought it to test with and of the limited options for the FL most don't work.

Wish I could but it's a bit quite far and I don't have any spare time atm :(

Will Audi know I've used carista?

Mine does the same and at night the white light isn't there. My guess is it's the sun going through the lens and making it look white.

Audi won't know what's been used, ie carista, but they will be able to see that a few things have been changed as their tool will do a configuration comparison database lookup.

Audi are not going to look for the "rogue carista" configuration, they will just plug in and start a process to return all settings to default which takes about 45mins for a medium spec car.

I would revert all the changes you have made so that only this one issue remains, might even fix itself in the process, as Audi cannot see "historic" changes, scan and clear any errors, then give the car to Audi and say that you have done no changes if asked... carista, vcds, coding changes..... what is this sorcery you speak of?

Funnily enough I thought that mine was doing the exact same I think it was on Friday morning.

I put it down to sunlight passing through the lens, I didn't notice it yesterday when it was wet weather.

To the OP - and this isn't intended to be fatuous - have you tried putting your finger over the inside of the little translucent lens while looking from the outside and vice versa?

I might be wrong, but from your photographs it looks very much like sunlight passing through it.

You don't say whether it does it at night or not...

I've got to agree, I looked at mine yesterday after reading this thread and it does indeed look like the bottom is lit up, however it is just light passing through from the other side.

This is 100% sunlight, i remembered this thread while i was out and about today and i also saw what looks like to be a white LED glowing ?. Well while i sat there i just put the window down put my hand over the end and as if by magic it goes! TADAA

It's not fair to say it's '100% sunlight'. Basically calling the OP a liar. I'm sure he's went out to check in the dark to see if it's still present, surely?

No one is calling anyone a liar, it's just the OP has been mistaken that's all, we can all be mistaken by light playing tricks on such things like light lenses?
