Facelift Cheapest Res-delete kits

I'm interested in doing this to mine. Can anyone recommend a place in the North West (Manchester pref)? I've heard of the powervalve anti-drone pipe but is it really worth the extra spondules? Had a full turbo back on my old Astra VXR so don't think my ears will be sensitive to drone?

I have the power-valve anti drone fitted and it's incredible. Car is totally silent inside when driving sensibly and when you want to throw it around a bit you get the whole experience of how the car should sound. Buy the pipe and spend the extra cash. It's a 20 minute fitting job.

Only problem is the pops crackles and bangs are addictive and makes me want a full remote valves system so I can had quiet or full yobbo mode at the touch of a button

had mine done today at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pipecraft-Essex/158975347483016 they come highly reccomended and did mine in less than an hour. Really not alot involved at all, cut out the box and put some stainless pipe in its place, as long as you can get the car up high enough then its very easy, Had mine welded on.

Got to say as others have pointed out, it sounds now as it should have done out of factory, i havent noticed any drone, still pretty silent in all, onyl in dynamic and sport does it sound lovely and got some really nice pops and bangs on the overun on sport mode.

defo worth it for gbp70

glad i found this thread.

Where can you get this power valve anti drone kit, can't seem to find it anywhere?

Nope they won't, because it's not that loud haha!!

The 'drone' pipe is also silent in normal driving.

Yep, definitely. I have the valve controller, I like to have it on the maximum volume possible which is with the valves fully open. With the res-delete you definitely can tell the difference a lot more with the valves open and closed, much deeper with them open. Great noise, enjoy!

Yeah if you tell him you found out from this forum, you get a discount. He told me its £265.50 + £15.00 shipping, too much for me.
I think you're right. £300 all in vs a £70 chop and weld at a local garage.. think I'll have to go with the latter. I'm sure the drone won't bother me

Yeah exactly. The fact that my PCP is 2 years and that I'll probably change before that, I'd rather not spend too much on it.

It won't bother you I'm sure, it really isn't that bad any extra noise you soon adjust to. Much quieter when you have the valves active too.

Where did you purchase the pipe from and how much did it set you back if you don't mind me asking?

I pick my S3 up in September, and I'm looking to have it fitted in work (I work at Volkswagen) straight away

Powervalve themselves. It's £285 delivered for forum members. @BCS Nige

Just had the Res delete done at a local powerflow dealer. Cut the exhuast and welded in the straight pipe. Took no more than 30 or so minutes to do. All I have to say is wow it makes much much more of a difference to the sound than any video could do justice to. Literally transformed the car in a very very good way. Sounds deeper grumblier and fair bit louder. More than worth the £70 paid for. Anyone paying for a £300 ready made kit is wasting their money. In D mode you can't really tell a difference. In S mode the difference is huge.

How do you find your local dealer?

Edit: Ignore me, I've just seen the "Dealers" bit on their website. Booked in tomorrow at 9am. They wouldn't give me a price but hoping it's £70-120 :) Can't wait!

I'm from the Wigan area would you be so kind to show me the exhaust when fitted? I'm 50/50 whether it's too over the top or not and I do around 25 miles on a motorway a day (at least) and I don't want to ruin that comfort.

Ofcourse - I'm living near Chester at the moment and booked in at the Birkenhead Powerflow dealer tomorrow. More than happy to come and meet you, send me a private message :)

Complete rubbish mate. Do a bit of research on backpressure on forced induction cars. If anything the car feels like it's gained a few bhp!

No drone when cruising at highway speeds in gear 6 /7. I did notice some drone when it first got installed between 2-3k revs but to be fair it depends how much you can tolerate. I'm going to be honest I was surprised at how loud it was when I pulled out of the exhaust shop but now it's been a day or so either it's quietened down slightly or I have just gotten used to it. Either way the sound is perfect for me now. I would say go for it you won't regret.

Tempted to get mine done. I see you have a pfl like me. Did you have pops and bangs before?

Just an update. What can I say.. best £70 I've ever spent tbh. It sounds absolutely brilliant. The DSG farts are much lower and it crackles and pops much more. Anyone considering this, get it done! Haven't experienced any drone but I had much louder exhausts on my previous cars so probably tolerate it well. Couldnt stop smiling driving back from the garage

My manual facelift car, pops and bangs all the time. Its great because with the manual you dont have a stupid rev limiter interfering.

Its would be great to amplify the engine note and bangs ;) .......just because im a hooligan

Are you local to them? :) Highly recommend.

The engine tone will be indentical minus the pops, definitely still worth doing.

if anyone's interested me and a guy did a comparison on his standard s3 and mine with some mods which also includes the res delete. it's obviously not as good as actually hearing it but u can still tell the difference.
insistently I had mine done at my local £80 all done and it's a massive improvment.. but ill let u guys be the judge. link below

I had mine done last week at Longlife exhausts Watford, cut out the box and put in a stainless steel pipe, took 25 minutes, charged £100.
Definitely can tell the difference, when driving at 70-80mph in eco mode there is a slight drone but not off putting at all, when driving around town in eco as well its slightly louder as it should be from stock.
When its in dynamic mode its a whole new beast, heads turning everywhere definitely more fun.
