Indicators in mirrors

On my 2010 s line the indicators in the mirrors are strange , some times they flash really bright and others you can hardly see them.

Is this normal ?
 
It can look that way sometimes. It's only a single LED that lights it up. I changed the lens in mine cause it was cracked. It looked really dim at first but seems to have brightened up a bit.
