Hi all,

My last couple of mods didn't work out as I had hoped. I sent my wheels back, because the paint started to bubble up around the centre caps on 3 of the 4 wheels and I removed my wind deflectors because I couldn't bare the noise.

I've recently installed the RS4 grille that I got from XenonzUK and a full interior LED upgrade that I got from @t8ups as well as the front fog lights but now I'm after some small subtle stuff due current budget restrictions. Ideally at some point I'd like to get it lowered and a remap but I'm not currently in a position to do so.

Any ideas or opinions please

I'd like to get a couple of things done relating to that like the needle sweep and have my DRL's a bit brighter when my headlights are on. Only problem is I know absolutely nobody with the means or the know how in this department.

I've been looking for a rear spoiler on eBay, trying to find one like you get on the B8.5 Black Edition + but the majority of ones I found look absolutely massive compared to the OEM one

I've had a look at a few of your posts to see what you've done and I have to say everything you've done to your car is top notch. Not too overstated in any way

Cheers pal.... believe me I have done the 'over the top' modding in my younger days lol

@Radford212, this modding is really addictive. Believe unless you try different options via VCDS or following members' build plans it is difficult to tell exactly what you want. Believe the best people for mods have already had their inputs above, i.e. @Macdoon and specially @xpoweruk and @Chop. aka Team Chav 2016 :). If I was you, I would go through their build plans and see what they have done to their rides. And then you need to follow some others who listened to them (like myself) and look at members' signatures. For example; I came here for Stage 1 advice and ended-up ordering things from across the globe :hubbahubba:
Gives you an idea what this forum is capable of

I'd like to do some stuff via the VCDS but as I've I said I know nobody who knows how to or can do it

Is ADS on every car and just not turned on in the menu or is it an option that you need?

Think a boot spoiler may be my next mod if can find a subtle enough one

Just got to plug it and see what it's all about.
I do have a small concern though, I've read on here that I could do so damage using it if I'm not careful?

So I had a little play and as @Chop. said it was pretty straight forward to use.

I engaged the needle sweep.
I turned the brightness of DRL's when the headlights are on.
The rear lights now act as DRL's too.
The fogs come on when turning.
I turned on the oil temp and lap timer.
I turned on the option to make it beep when I lock the car.

All in all not bad for the £31. I did how ever have one small problem in that when I started the car for the first time after using the app, my fuel gauge stayed at the bottom and the readout dropped to 0. A quick refuel and every went back to normal. Anyone else have any small things like this happen when they've used it before?

@Radford212 I had it reset the status of Hill Hold Assist (it remembers the last setting) when I did a full scan so there does seem to be the odd side effect.

Have you considered vinyl wrapping the interior trim pieces? quite an easy and cheap styling mod, the only awkward piece to remove is the piece on the centre console around the gear stick and controls.

That looks nice mate, the thing is I've got the black inlays and I quite like them. The only thing that I could think of doing is the silver bit around the speedo and the screen. Was it easy to remove the trim?

I havent attempted the trim around the dials and the screen. I've just done the door strips and the gear stick/control suround trim. My first attempt at that i did with it in place as reading the threads about it sounded quite time consuming and a bit of a pain to remove. I'm not happy with the finish though so may have to give in and retry it, removing the trim properly. Lesson learnt for cutting corners!!!

Never

Cut

Corners

(if you are anal about this sort of stuff...)

They look great from the photo though

The trim around the dials & vent is really easy to remove. Literally just give it a tug and it will pop out

Cheers @Lavis89, was just a bit concerned about snapping any clips. I can be a bit heavy handed at times :tearsofjoy:

Learnt my lesson from that now. The door trims and trim above glovebox were all removed and wrapped properly, tucked over all the edges and cut on the back of the piece.

Might have to redo them all yet as i've ordered a new roll of wrap to redo the centre console bit and not seen if it matches the existing wrap or not yet.

Monday I'm getting the dash pieces wrapped at a local place. Seen some of there work and it looks top drawer, so instead of getting to a right mess myself I'm getting someone who knows what they're doing to do it.

I have wrapped many parts on many cars, tried the trims around the vents twice, but once the heat is on the wrap will start to warp

Reasonable price? @Radford212
You'll have to put some pictures up when its done. What sort of colour/finish you gone for?

Reasonable enough, £80 for both pieces. They said it was a 'premium vynil' when they quoted it.

Get them back tomorrow. Then I've just got to put my drivers side vent back together..

Will put pictures up tomorrow.

Got the trim back today, more than pleased with the results. They did a fantastic job imo.

Looks like they did a cracking job. Did you say you had 2 pieces of trim wrapped? what was the other piece?

I don't think the pictures do it justice, it does look really good!
Sorry what I meant by 2 pieces was the piece around the screen and the piece around the vent the other side.
