hey all wtf has just happened. I havent used aircon in my s3 for months now and read you should switch it on every now and then to let seals lubricate. Started car had about 75 miles range left switched auto on for a min then put econ on driving abit looked at trip it had dropped to 45 lol switched aircon all off still kept dropping all way to 5 mile left in space of about 10min like someone stuck a screwdriver in my fuel tank also noticed my avg to mpg had dropped to like 21.5 from around 28. Does this sound normal?
Aircon just gulped my fuel??

Did the gauge actually drop? the range changes all the time it all depends on how your driving the car I'd always go off the gauge and not the range

In a way tuffty which I had done that now but you don't get the push back in the seat like you do with a petrol turbo at around 2000rpm
If I got rid of the 1.8t now would miss it badly. lol
yeh think your right there badger. Is it true you should run your aircon every so often to stop it seizing up?

The aircon on the TT developed a very terminal rapid depressurisation last weekend.
No longer have to run the aircon to stop it seizing up or worry about too much power being taken or even how much weight I am dragging around that hardly ever gets used .
Charcoal Evap fell off too along with 1 of the horns.

I can't live without aircon so I fitted a bigger turbo instead...
