Here is a new type of reverse light that I have in now for those that have the OEM halogens.

They are LED and will be plug and play without the need for coding.

http://emtuning.co.uk/product/emt-10c/

Discount code summer15 for discount until Monday night. - 15% off.

will work on PRE FL and FL cars.

I thought cree were more powerful than smd , as the link is for smd sidelights .

Legoland aesthetics won't look well in the clearer less fussy lenses .

Hey @t8ups , believe these are the same as the ones I got the other day

Do you need to do any coding or these have blockers built in to them

Reverse and sidelights are the same colour and fit so they work for both

Yeah, but reversing lights are designed to illuminate the way when reversing, sidelights are for non dazzling parking use.

I have tried a few LED/SMD/CREE so called bright white bulbs and they are all no use for seeing what's behind the car when it's dark.

If technology has moved on and these are better than the standard filament bulbs in a B8.5 at showing what's behind the car when it's dark I will take a pair.

I have the previous gen ones from trups and they are noticeably better on the rear view camera.

Reverse lights are designed to warn others that your reversing, its a signal, on old cars they where not made to illuminate the way for reversing. The Audi's have a very small reflector and lens/opening, you could put a LED with 25 LEDs in there, it will look like a blob of light and actually perform no better than one with 5 leds.

The ones I have are done so they sit better in the holder and sit where the filament needs to be to use the OE optics. when you get a bulb that has 20 LEDs only 3 of the 10 may catch the reflector.

I don't have a B8 to do output shots on but my C6 uses these so il bring some home later and get some fitted to it and do before and afters.

I'll stick to left foot braking to illuminate my reversing then, the brake lights are way brighter than the reverse lights.

If the B8 has a small lense and opening wouldn't a bulb with also a projector at the front be better ?

I find this helps more than reverse lights lol. The NEw cars like Mercs and even the newer Audis come with LED lights, but the optics are designed for this purpose with more functionality in mind.

I don't think it will make too much difference, if you utilise the reflectors in there in the right way it should be more than enough, lighting a LED up with a projector lens is brighter out the car, once fitted you can expect upto 10-15% loss of the focus through the plastic lens.

Here are the pictures I took.
Pics taken on IPhone 6, no filters/no exposure drops or flash.

Before

After-

And fitted in the lens, they don't look like a Lego Tower at all Gaz youll be glad to know :D

So MY review and I am not been biased, they worked better than I was expecting, I am always open minded but was not expecting that outcome, and better yet they have worked Error free on the C6 so was even happier lol.

Cheers @t8ups and taking the time to explaining it to all. Its a beast you've got

Not sure why people start discussing things not worth discussing. We are talking about whether or not spending under £20 for lights is sensible but won't think about £2k on remapping - strange world. In the end if it doesn't work, well, it doesn't work.

Good result , like I said earlier the lego asthetics might not look good in a clearer lense .

I've got coming today the ones I linked , it's for a non VAG with clearer reverse lenses .
