Annoying rubber.

Wtf bizarre reply from Michelin! Mine are noisy tbf but only noticeable on a concrete road, on tarmac all is fine.

It doesn't inspire confidence to put michelin tyres on the RS3 at all does it.
I know you have them and comment on how good they are, as do many others, but after that reply from Michelin I can't see me considering them now.
Basically saying their tyres are not suitable in so many words.

Yeah a bit annoying as I now have rears too waiting to go on :tearsofjoy:

I was about to post in here about this
My four PS4S' were fitted last week and well, they are pretty noisy, probably worse than the AD08R's i had on my mini.
On the flipside, when i put my wider PZeros on the front (after Kwik fit put them on the back), they were also pretty loud, even with the PNCS thingy.
Would i put Pzeros back on? No thanks.

Well after waiting nearly a month there here now, cracking rim protection on them.
So while the cars in getting a full front end PPF again an ceramic coating I thought I'd get all four wheels refurbed before getting all tyres fitted. IMG 1114

Sounds like you're splashing out ;) How come it is having PPF again?

Ah I recall that now so it makes sense haha. Did your insurance pay out on the PPF after? I am going to get it on mine, yes I can have the bumper painted for a fraction of the cost but it seems silly to knowingly let the car get obliterated by stone chips and nothing will match original paint.

Fortunately I am within cycling distance to work (half a mile) so the car will just be a toy, one that I will only likely take out when it is dry etc so it should stay immaculate.

Yep PPF and ceramic coating again was all covered by insurance, tried to get a set of tyres out of it but weren't having it lol.
Doubt very much you'll only drive your car when it's dry, ecspecialy in this country as it pi**es down most of the time.
It's there to be enjoyed mate, not parked up doing nothing.
My motor bike is my toy, think it's been caught out in the rain once in 3years.IMG 0690

Wow that's great, how did you get away with that one?!
What grounds did you put down for the tyres? :lmfao:

Well I don't use my car for any purpose other than work, just enjoyment and visiting family etc but I still end up doing 12-15k a year :O It will stay cleaner through winter I'm sure as it doesn't have to be used, but I am sure it will end up seeing the rain sooner or later.

Nice Fireblade! I had a moped when I was 16, I did 18,000 miles in a year restricted to 28mph. Did a couple of long trips, Walsall was my furthest from South Wales and it was 250 miles round trip... took me 11 and a half hours with only 40 minutes off the bike all day.

I went away from bikes after that and have tried to distract myself by the cars but I have always loved bikes (Dad has had a fair few in the past). I told the girlfriend, I will stay away from the bike for as long as I am allowed the fast cars and there was somewhat an agreement there haha.

I tried for the tyres but they weren't having it,I got the 4 track laser alignment done mind under insurance.
PPF was covered by the insurance cause it was already on the car before the bump, and that it was on it to protect it.
Worth mentioning that when you have it applied to notify your insurance company as believe it or not it comes under a modification. Yes it's true, never knew this till it happened to me.
Bikes...nothing can beat them,if your senceible on them and think ahead while riding them and aware of others then you should be fine.
The roads up here in Scotland are amazing for them, would p$ss all over my RS3 lol.
Bike 2014 2800miles on it.
RS3 2015 10800miles on it.
I like toys lol.

I like playing with the bikers even if they are much faster and they are of course. Coming back from Goodwood I had the cheek to pass a big bike on the DC at a "reasonable" pace only for him to floor it and go past me well into treble figures! Not for me as it only takes one lunatic to take you out on a bike which won't end well.

To true,it's never going to end well is it.
Misses wants me to get rid of it to be honest.
Might of just found a reason in the last hour to do so...new parts for RS lol

Sounds like you got a good deal though on all done, nice one! Who do you use for insurance?
I will definitely mention PPF, did they put your price up for it?

That's the thing with bikes though, 90% of the time it isn't you that's the problem. At the moment, I would prefer the car over a lesser car and a bike.

I'm with Admiral for my insurance, don't no if price will go up regarding PPF Installation as I'm not due my renewal yet.
I'd imagine it might do as it was over 2k to get it all done again.

Hi Guys,
Recently picked up my first RS3 so just ironing out a few issues, one of which is a bit of road noise.

The car had the rear wheels refurbished before I collected it and after doing a few miles now I've noticed a strange road noise. It does sound to be the back wheels which would have been removed for the refurb and they have been balanced as there are new weights on them.

My question is has anyone tried Road Force Balancing. As i'm running factory tyres and the only thing thats changed is the refit of the tyres I was wondering if maybe thats the difference as I don't believe Audi here have a road force balancer.

I've always preferred MPS4s as tyres but if Michelin themselves recommend sticking to the P zeros then I need to try sort the noise issue.

The place I got my previous A3 wheel spacers in Dublin have the only road force balancer in the country here as far as I can see but I have read good things online - any experience with it anyone?

Otherwise loving the RS3, its one crazy car!!

Hello @FinnMc1 - I honestly wouldn't put a lot of faith in "Road Force Balancing" over a normal wheel balance having been through bit of a nightmare with a car with a vibration issue. The motoring world got along fine with regular wheel balancing for donkey's years.

Forgive me for stating the obvious, but you are complaining of a noise issue, if a wheel was out of balance you would be feeling a vibration through the car typically at around 70mph+. I would thoroughly check the tyres all around to make sure you haven't got any debris lodged in one of them first.

Hi, thanks for the reply, I just had the wheels balanced as there was a slight vibration from the steering at about 70 which seems to of cleared up now.
They found all the wheels out a bit with the balancing but the front right wheel looked to be a little out of shape compared to the rest also so possibly it hit a big pothole or something. I'm going to question Audi on that one.
I've checked around the car for anything causing the noise and all looks good and the guys checked all the tyres but it does seem much better after the balancing.
I thought the same about the road load balancing. I've never needed it before.
