My tyres on an A3 Sportback 2.0 tdi 150 bhp are now wearing out at about 18,000m they are Continental 5.

Any recommendations for replacements. I have heard that Continental 6 are good. Wear is realatively important to me.

Cheers,

Martha

Continentals aren't known for great wear characteristics.

I would suggest to look at michelin or goodyear tyres

Michelin for me, all the way.
ATS have a good deal on PS4 and Crossclimate at the moment. Booked for a pair of PS4s as soon as I can find time.

I chose Michellin Pilot 4S tyres for my S3 based on their overall performance and that included the most miles per tyre

Havent tried them but Michelin CrossClimates are my next tires in the next few months. The reviews are excellent. Only problem is that i cant find any reviews on how they wear, loads about pro's & cons though. Nice video of an A3 in the snow on Cross climates here:

Cheers fro all the advice. Thinking of getting the Dunlop Sport RTMAX 2 - seems to have good reviews and wear better than Cntinentals.

Other possibility is Micheln Pilot 4 - but not sur about wear and tends to be pricier

I've done 16,000 on Goodyear Efficient Grip and was told yesterday I had plenty of wear left (estimated 22,000 miles) and my car is supposed to eat through tyres. Personally, not been impressed with Michelin, my daughter has had problems with the side walls perishing prematurely on her Citroen - French expensive rubbish like their wine :highly amused::haha:

After 25,600 miles, I've just renewed the Dunlop SP SportMaxx RT tyres on my A3 Sport saloon with the same brand/type, and can recommend them for excellent wear, handling and quietness.

Got Goodyear Eagle f1 assy 2's on my 2.0 tdi s line saloon. Done 21000 and think i'll get another 4000 before i need to change the fronts.

Wouldn't put anything else on my car great all round tyre.

Anyone ran the yoko AD08 or parada spec tyres ? I find Michelin wear very quick Goodyear F1 were great and my new S3 came on hankook tyres and they are garbage
