Yeah mate, that is the exact video I was using as well but I have tried and failed many times to unscrew that first part! Maybe will try again when I've had some spinach!!

I bought the extension hose and wanted to connect it last week and TBH it was a nightmare to unscrew the connector. I tried wrenches, pliers and then gave up. And then asked one of my neighbors to help and it worked

TBH, not to happy with AF Glass Cleaner it might be that I didn't apply it properly. Will give it a go again tomorrow.

Mind the Vikan brush. I scratched the alloys on my B7 with one of them after only a few months use. The protective coating over the wire had come off and I hadn't noticed. Scratched all 4 wheels. :(

I now have the Gyeon brush which is much softer and safer.

Cheers @scotty76. I have AG wheel brush along with CYC detailing brushes (interior and exterior) that I use for wheels on both my cars. Vikan will be used only for arches and under chassis .
Gyeon goes in the basket now along with CarPro MF towel. I really liked the towels.

TBH when the wheels are protected I find they just need washing. I pressure wash them first then follow up with shampoo and a microfibre noodle mitt. I have a dedicated mitt just for wheels, nothing fancy just one from Tesco.

Tell me about it, mine is crying for mercy.

Thing is, this isn't everything I've bought over the last few weeks getting ready for the new car. I think it would've been cheaper to just buy my own detailer to live in the garage.:tearsofjoy:

A micofibre madness mit, as ive heard the pad is stiffer, will just fold the wrist cover thing inside, and its slightly bigger than the pad.
some hydro2 lite, and some Adams shampoo, wheel cleaner and rubber/tyre cleaner...nearly out of gtech wash and billberry wheel cleaner so I'll try something new.

Bought some kiln Korea drying towels. Amazing towels and very good at absorbing water. Also got my new wax, its a show wax so not much protection but makes the paint very glossy.

The statement "locks in the shine for upto a year" is the bit that worries me. The wording is carefully chosen for a good reason!

APC from Lidl, 75p for 1litre, diluted it's great for light soiling interior and exterior, can't go wrong. Glimmermann non acidic wheel cleaner concentrate £11 2litre, really impressed. :D

But is it any good ??

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It's very good for the price. £8 out of Wiko! I've just finished a bottle. Probably got 6 applications. Three layers on my A3 and 3 on the wife's mini. Gives a very Glossy, smooth as a babies bum finish. Really like it.

Longevity still to me tested, but it beads water like crazy!!

Booked a full new car detail and UNC-R Max protect coating on my new Q5.

In the meantime Poorboys black hole and dodo juice wax will keep it looking sharp.

Just ordered a DA (Meguiar's MT320PADKIT) from Amazon for Saturday. I am no pro by any means, but I've been 'hobby detailing' for a good 10 years or so. I generally use a mix of Meguiries and AutoGlm stuff. But until now I've done it all by hand..

Wondering, how dangerous a DA is in an amateurs hands? I've heard you can burn through the clear coat.. It's making me nervous using it.

Any advice/tips are appreciated. (Also posted on Detailing World)

Mike you'll be absolutely fine. Extremely difficult to inflict any damage with a DA. The head osilates so it doesn't just spin like a rotary. When it comes to pads and polishes, just use the least abrasive pad and polish combo for your needs! Start light and work up if you need to. Apart from that, enjoy using it. You'll wonder what you did without very soon!
