Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get hold of a decat for the 1.8 turbo?

Everything I've found seems to be for the B6, not sure if they'll be the same. When I've enquired about them, they'll only advise fitting to the B6.

Or if anyone who sees this has one for sale then let me know.

Might be worth getting a custom exhaust place to make one, couple of us guys on the b6 side have bought (eBay and other) decat pipes that were rediculously big and designed for some other aftermarket exhaust or something so we've either had an exhaust made or got a place to make us a decat pipe.

If you do go this route I'd recommend dropping the seller a message first asking for the dimensions and measuring against your own.

Ok cheers mate, I'll have to look into that.

I know my nearest custom exhaust place don't do stainless though, but I suppose depending on how much they charge may be worth it. Should last a good few years anyway.
 
where are you based Nc10 ?

Ive got a B6 1.8t quattro and as DiesalJake says above, I would almost certainly get it custom made.

Just for reference im getting a 3inch decat downpipe, straight through all the way to 2.5inch split with 4'' tips.

I ended up getting the decat pipe from eBay, looks the same so fingers crossed. I had a go at fitting it today but got p****d off. I need to buy some socket extensions tomorrow, see if I can get to the nuts.

I'll see what it sounds like after that then look at getting the centre pipe swapped out.

Well good luck with it. Persevere with it as the decat is so worth it!
 
I ended up paying £40 to get the decat fitted. I did feel a bit better when he said he'd been doing exhausts 20 years and that it was a complete bitch to get off, I'd have had no chance.

Turbo whistles a lot louder, maybe sounds a bit more meaty, I wouldnt say louder though.

Going to price up having the centre box removed now, hopefully shouldn't be too much.

Forge dump valve is also on now to add to the noise, not as loud as I'd have hoped but it's not 100% atmospheric so can't grumble really. Still makes me smile :laughing:

Great news dude.

It wont be that much louder as you dont have an exhaust system per se with bigger bore pipes.

Im putting up pics and videos of mine in a few days for reference. (On my build thread) I cannot stop revving it! haha
