Looking good Alex.

Anyone toying with adding one of these modules I've had this functionality for a few months now and it's one of my favourite mods - makes the S/S button remember it's state when you remove the keys so you don't have to press to deactivate every time you get into the car.

Also prefer this over the VCDS method of disabling S/S as you don't get the S/S unavailable message on the DIS every time you pull up at traffic lights.

Thats a good point, I forgot to mention that the module does not throw up a S/S unavailable message :)

Love the look of this..can it not be made to plug in so no wiring needed...as I'm sure you would sell a loft more that way..as I know I wouldn't mess with any wires..even if it's only 3...but either way..a ****** good idea as my start stop on my facelift is way to sensitive

Unfortunately there is no OEM style connector available at the moment, not even one from Audi which I can repurpose :( I am working on creating a more elegant solution but for the moment the scotch lock method is the best I can come up with for ease of "self" install.

There is another way of installing my module but this involves removing the needed wires / pins form the OEM connector, crimping the module connections to the wires, and then re-inserting. A job not for the average Audi driver unfortunately.

Am gonna put a video together detailing the install process and options. Will be online by Friday.

At least one supplier of a module to do the same job (Kufatec) makes it so that it can be plugged in to the OBD port. This type of plug would obviously be easier for anyone who does not like to get behind the dashboard.

Seen that one, it's a software "flashing" device which automatically completes the voltage modification which can be performed via VCDS and alike. While this disables start / stop it does not allow manual override on demand.

That's obviously the reason it only costs £30. A lot cheaper that buying VCDS if that's all you want to do but not as versatile as your unit. Personally I switched mine off using the voltage modification using VCDS which I already owned.

All I need now is the coding to make the period the car is stopped wuth ACC longer before I have to use the setting lever or throttle. Any ideas?

Not really on topic :) To be honest I don't remember seeing a setting of this nature while on my travels with VCDS etc, but thats not to say that it might not be possible. I would need to look through all the adaptation / coding maps that I have before I can say for sure. Actually, looking at your sig I can see that you have a FL car and I know I don't have any ACC FL maps :( If you could email over some information I would be more than happy to take a look. I have a lot of requests like this in a queue tho, so might be a few days before I can get back to you.

Thanks to @Rob2k68 I looked at the module he has installed and he kindly sent me the installation instructions and I found them a wee bit daunting...removal of push toggle panel and then wiring to correct colour coded wiring, plus the unit he has seems quite large for the I presume cramped quarters, plus possible movement noises when hitting bumps on the road.
I love the idea, especially with no warnings appearing on the DIS but if I understand Alex's module correctly a fault may show up on an Audi's tech OBD display and to avoid that you would have to remove the module prior to taking your vehicle in for servicing?
Therefore, I would buy in a heartbeat if the issues I mention are not of a concern and the installation and if necessary removal of the module is within the grasp of someone who has the technical skill of changing a home electrical power outlet.

Just wanted to say that my module generates no errors and cannot be detected by Audi or any technician without pulling out the switch panel. The only way someone would know there is a module installed is if you forget to disable the memory feature (re-enable S/S via the button before turning off the ignition) and the person notices that S/S is not kicking in, or if someone was to remove the switch panel and check the wiring behind it.

As for the size :)

Dunlop Guitar Pick / Memory Module / Standard SD Card
FullSizeRender 2 copy 3logo squashed

Memory Module / Standard SD Card

Would also like to note that unlike the VCDS (etc) method of disabling S/S, my module will not trigger any "Start / Stop System not Available messages" within the DIS or Virtual Cockpit when stationary :)

Thanks Alex...just make sure you show delivery costs to Canada and the USA on your order form and may I suggest 1st class mail as the best price option or any other carrier apart from UPS. This item would be a hot seller in the USA market as start/stop only staring showing up in last years models and the Yanks hate it. So , it might be worthwhile to hook up with a North American distributor.

I have the memory function on the stop/start switch on my S4

Its an absolute must, if like me you hate stop/start with a passion

Weirdly, my wife's old Ford Ka also had the memory function on the stop/start switch, which we bought new
