My A5 had new pistons as part of the consumption fix, would they have changed the cam chain as part of the work? There's nothing on the worksheet about it.

If not what sort of price should I expect to pay? It's a 2.0tfsi.

They do not change the cam-chain and tensioners. If the chain slips by a couple of teeth on the sprockets, it will cost thousands as the pistons and valves will meet.
 
It's not a serviceable item, it should last the life of the engine, but they can fail, usually the tensioner. It's not cheap though, I've done many engine rebuilds on a5/4 2.0tfsi (ex Audi tech). It would take about 6 ish hours depending on the tech
