Went out for lunch with my wife and mum, I managed to get my safe space ;) So much more relaxing when you know that your car is safe :)

Even on today's drive day, when in the company of fellow Audi owners, it's important to practice defensive parking techniques

Love this thread,

So I get my car serviced and I ask them to park it somewhere safe after they had finished.

Does this count?

I got the impression they were taking the P, didn't care though.

I'd rather have someone taking the pi55 behind my back than have some **** bash it. Lol

Fair play to the dealership

Hospital parking is always a nightmare. Pay and display was out of service that day so found a safe spot.

On double yellow lines!!! Did they not give you a ticket for that?

No, Everyone was parking on double yellows, all done that road. So take advantage of the corner edge spot.

Always make sure I get to work early to bag one of the two spaces with any kind of room. The rest are ridiculously narrow.

I'm puzzled as to why everyone thought the yellow lines are related to whether the parking meters were working or not?
Everyone on that day was parking on double yellow lines. You can see it better is this picture, all the left hand side of the road is double yellows and was fully used by cars. Bazaar.

Yeah totally get what you're saying, what I was getting at was because everyone was doing it doesn't make it right as the yellows are there for a reason, including keeping access clear and unobstructed. Maybe I'm just turning into victor meldrew :frowning:

A like-minded TT owner nabbed my normal space (in fairness I don't drive to work every day). Given the previous comments and the fact that this is Edinburgh (where we get the occasional windy spell!), maybe I shouldn't park next to lamp posts and CCTV poles anyway. I did spend quite some time deciding whether to leave one space or two between the two cars. It's not a great photo because it doesn't show that the next car is about 30 spaces away.

Thankfully not, I was been and gone before....Anyway these sort of people are to busy or lazy to walk far and always head for the spaces closer to the shops.

Well I've been away since last Friday around the Hereford area, on Wednesday we went walking in the Forest of Dean. I found a very quiet car park with about 20-30 spaces...I was the only one there.

Four hours later we came back to the car to find ONE more car had had joined us!!! I couldn't believe that out of all the other spaces available this tit parked like this:

Right

As you can see nothing to my left:

Left

Why do people feel the need to park right next to another car when there are plenty of spaces???

****** annoying. Happened to me the other day in out local Sainsbury's. That lady left aaaaaaall of the bays empty and decided to park right next to mine. Luckily, I got there as she was about to come out but couldn't because of the tight space - sigh of relief!!!
My conclusion is these are the people who came in to this world as a result of an accident. And because no thought went in to their existence, well ....
