Remap exhaust induction kit the normal stuff what sort of turbo are on these also intercooler is it worth upgrading any input would be appreciated thanks

Cheers bud will have a read of this hopefully will help ta

no probs. I know there has been a few folk fitting front mount intercoolers and bigger turbos but I really have no ideas on them.
I know to get it mapped youll be stuck with a chip unless you use a Mk4 golf ECU but this is a common swap again there is threads covering this.

sadly apart from that Im really no use to you.. if it was a Diesel I could help but petrol A4's Ive never played with.. In fact dont think ive ever owned a petrol Audi bar the older B2 coupes and a few 80's and 100's but they were all the 5 cylinder engine

Good guide mate cheers time to get the credit card out I think lol

APU is already on ME7, so no need to mess about with golf ECU's, they're tunable as is.

That linked tuning guide is quite old. Things have moved on in some respects.

OK mate that's good to know you know a lot about them bud?

No problems mate want to know as much as possible about the engine

dont think you can do much with the rear of the FWD A4 is your car FWD or quattro? the front you have a few options. you can do the 312mm conversion with a set of caliper carriers from an S3 and some B6 v6 3.0 discs. that's whats on the front of mine. just standard calipers. it does make a nice difference.
you can go bigger but then its more involved. the 312mm conversion is a nice easy swap.

heres the 312mm conversion on mine behind a set of 17" S4 wheels.

yes those are right.

You can do stuff with the rears, i proposed a solution years ago using A6 wheel bearings, and a chap on here has finally done it recently, using i think a TT rear disk.

That would be cool mate the standard disks look tiny with 18inch alloys

Any advice on what a good induction kit is for the 1.8t cheers

I'm running 280hp on the standard paper filter. The exact same paper filter was used in the RS4, making 380hp from the factory...

Panel filters might gain you a horsepower or two, but they dont filter the air correctly and the oil can damage the MAF sensor.

It really is a case of leave well alone.

Does anyone know if you can run a upgraded coilpack on these engines cheers

APU i think has the brick type ones with S4 on them in green writing?

If so you need to rewire the loom a bit to use the newer pencil type coils.

How easy is that also any advantages of running better coilpack

the later system is a bit simpler i guess, less failure points as it does away with the ignition module on the airbox.

How easy it is depends on your level of skill with wiring. I found it easy enough. Others probably wouldnt.
