Had my S3 8P for 6 months now and loving every minute since trading in my A3 Diesel. Best decision ever
I have had a couple of minor issues which have been resolved (Coil Pack fault and some strange noises) but one issue I am struggling with is the turbo boost. In short it seems to be surging boost instead of being 1 consistent boost on acceleration.
If I'm on a slip road in 3rd gear and put my foot down, the car picks up nicely but the turbo seems to boost in surges. It's as if it has put as much boost through as it can and needs a split second to wind down and boost again. You can just about feel it in the car as the boost goes through a few waves of power. Each boost is probably 3-5 seconds then a split second of none then back on it again.
Sounds a bit strange to me. I've been told it might be the Turbo wastegate but was wondering if anyone else has experienced it?
