Hey Guys,

Time has come to replace my brakes, getting the fronts done first as there in a terrible condition..

Been looking around and there are alot of different variations and combos for disks + pads.

Was after any advice and guidance before I went away and bought some.

Im not after anything fancy as i never do track days and only use my car for travelling around town..

I was looking at: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FOR-VW-GO...uattro&hash=item3a8af432dc:g:TboAAOSwopRYmg8L

Or can get eicher disks and pads from eurocarparts cheap as they have a sale on today but are they rubbish?

any help appreciated :)

Be careful with any of the aftermarket discs - they may look the dogs but they are rarely as well manufactured as OEM stuff. I had genuine brembo discs mated to DS2500 pads and although they squealed when hot, they were a good fast road combo. Just recently fitted the some dba t2 slotted discs and they are an improvement over stock. I would also advise against drilled discs as they get clogged very quickly and you lose the benefit + even the OEM drilled discs have been known to show hairline cracks from the drilled holes.

Thanks for your reply and advice mate much appreciated! still not sure what to go for though haha.
what would you recommend thats a good set thats cheapish aswell :)

I run brembo hp2000 pads on the front with oem discs, pretty good for just pads compared to the oem pads.

Imo if your on a budget, go pagid discs and uprated pads - avoid ebc though for pads!!

I brought a set of Pagid discs and pads almost a year ago and they did the job. A few of the lads here recommenced them to me. Thinks there the ones Audi use I was told

Pagid everything from ECP. Best all rounder for a normal road car
