Went into dealers today with a friend who's car shopping. Caught up with the salesman who sold me my S3. He confirmed my car should be with me near the end of the second week in May!

Not bad, considering: ---- Although still feels like a world away! hah.

soooo judging by your timeframes im about a week away from panel shop :yahoo:

My original build date was the 24th. So it seems I followed the path of many, and was in QC by the time my build date came around :yes:

So guys, it's been fun (no it hasn't, every day of waiting has been painful). Haven't had a chance to take any good photos, I may upload one with some beautiful scenery at some point. But for now here is the two I have, to get those awaiting delivery of a S3 excited :D

It looks like mines on the same line as yours, exact same dates for each stage, but my dealer still couldn't tell me when mine will be ready for collection. If it was for arguments sake the second week of May, I need to arrange for BMW to pick up my car fairly soon!

Looks great! As I said before I've seen a few pictures here and there but it does change depending on the lighting, camera angle etc. It looks as good as I hoped it would though. Making me more impatient for delivery of mine :D

My build date was the week before yours and I've been waiting at the port since the 20th (according to CS). So depending on how many they've got to ship to the UK I do wonder if yours will be on the same ship as mine? Which would mean a quick turn around for you from factory to actually getting on a ship.

I've also got a weird thing in those dates where apparently it left the factory (30) before it went into QC (24) :sweatsmile: I just assume they should be round the other way.

I know mate mine was on back order from November but its not too long now. It needs to be the 8th of may fast ! haha :)

Once i get mine i believe il be the only 1 on this site with a 3 door black edition with 19 inch wheels :smirk:

I'm the 24th, my tracker updated today too, but CS told me it actually left the factory 23/04. Still not at port yet tho. :(

Awesome. Would seem mine is on its way too it's left the factory at least!

I was at the dealers earlier. An he said mid may still feels like waiting for Christmas (as a child of course)

I would say 24 hrs... check my timeline and see when I went to status 38.

This means released for shipping...

Edit: you can't as that status isn't on my list!

You will probably update to that today!

They aren't always up to date either... I know you're keen (as I was) but sadly all you can really do is be patient.

I used this site to read about other topics related to my new car and I have to say it was doing this that really kept me entertained!

To the situation I find myself now which is starting to become a regular visitor/contributor

Trying to be patient but my golf gti has gone now and I'm left with my other car a 2008 Astra cdti with leaking injectors seals :nomouth:

So just says away from May - when my car (like many others will be built).

I'm currently looking at 29 May build date but based on what I have read from other builds it looks more likely my car will be finished by the 29th rather than just being built!

What I find great is that after 3 months of no updates hopefully in the next week or so it may change!

(Although bummed the build date at one point was 8 May and then moved back!)

All i can say is don't get your hopes up too much !! :(

My build week is the 8th of may & mines not started early but if it does count yourself a lucky one ! :)

How long for a factory order at the moment? Wife is going to have an A3 cabrio for her retirement present and I need to know when to visit the dealer. If I go before I'm ready to place the order I'll be getting weekly phone calls asking if I'm ready to order. Original proposed retirement date was July 2018 but wife is now talking about Easter 2018. Still a way off yet, but timing is all important so all ducks must be in a row (to quote the awful cliche)
 
I've been on the way to the port of exit for a week now (status 30) :expressionless: left the factory last Sunday the 23rd
 
My order is also showing as status 30 but I only left the factory on the 27th. Not to fussed as long as the car gets to the dealership before the 1st June as it's booked in for a detail then:footy:

Something wierd is going on with the Audi site.

My order is all messed up. The name and model is all wrong. The build week has moved from 29th May to June 18th but interestingly enough the XML file shows the car as a MY2018 car now.

I hope this is just the site suffering some bugs as I don't want an extra 2-3 weeks wait.

Specially as I have been counting the days until May started as that's when I'm due to build. Or was.

UPDATE

While there is clearly something weird going on with the name and model information it does appear that due to the MY18 update that any cars due to be built from week 23 onwards have been pushed back 3-4 weeks based on similar posts on the forum.

This is a major disappointment for me; all MY18 is adding is a self-dimming rear view mirror and rear parking sensors as standard which I already had specced so I am getting a delay and no benefits. In addition the mileage on my Golf R that I am trading in is currently at 28k and if I have to wait until mid-July to get the car it could well be mid 30s in mileage which is not going to help my trade in value so thanks Audi for the delay.

My build has moved back five weeks mate (5th June) - now 14th July ! I'll be taking delivery in the September storm now:confounded:
 
Has anyone seen this before? Seems strange to me unless the factory closes for some reason that we are getting pushed back.

Live chat told me on Friday there are currently issues with the tracker and they're looking in to it. So that could be the problem?
 
For those that are showing status 30. I checked with Live Chat and mine arrived at the port on the 28th. Just waiting for a boat to take it to Grimsby now :whip:

Strangely mine has now come forward three weeks from 3rd July to 12th June? Also got the strange messages on the tracker
S3 3dr BE S Tronic for reference...
 
11 days and still in transit to the port of exit . Maybe they took a detour..:neutral:

Out interest what day did you reach Status 30? I've just checked my order with Audi CS and they have said that mine is still in transit to Emdem and this can take up to 5 working days.

Could be worse, I've been at port since the 20th and been released for shipping since the 22nd :worried:
 
Bizarre how things work out . Some people's cars seem to get thru quickly , others in port for weeks or nearly 2 weeks to get from the factory to the port.
