Or not, because he won't have a functional key fob inside the car after he's unlocked it so it won't start to drive it away. It would let someone rob the inside of the car though and gives access to the OBD port so I suppose a substitute key could be programmed that way. Volkswagen group is mentioned in the article but not Audi specifically, so who knows if our cars are vulnerable anyway? They may already be using the updated chipsets mentioned.
 
This is nothing new, devices such as this have been around for a while. Personally I think it very irresponsible to advertise these things...
