What a nightmare! Can't get the bonnet to pop. Bonnet release cable was removed temporarily whilst engine was removed.. After engine went back in, I refitted the release cable.. And slammed the bonnet shut! Not realising I have opened a can of worms.

I must have fitted cable incorrectly!? I pull the lever in driver footwell and its moving something on the release mech!?

I pulled the front grill off but that still didn't give me any access. Bumper can't come off because plugs on top. Tried jamming a few drivers into the latch but all I succeeded in doing was removing some paint..

If anyone has any advice plz share :)

Thanks

have you tried lifting the bonnet whilst somebody pulls the bonnet release?

Work the bonnet release with someone working the bonnet up and down and hopefully she should open.

In work we use an air bag like thing you slide in, and pump up untill you can see the mech, and flick it with a screwdriver

Alright lads me and a mate were messing around with it last night but couldn't get the ****** thing up.. Feel like a right plum lol

Scotty that airbag device you mention sounds like it would be very helpful hmm

Might try speak to my neighbour he's been a mechanic longer than I've been alive more or less.. Hopefully he can hell out.. If not I might just throw a match on ****** thing haha

A gynecologist may be more helpful

Whats a gynecologist?

Someone who's used to working in tight spaces.

I knew one once who could decorate the inside of his house through the letterbox.

Managed to get the b@stard open. Only took me a week! Had to flick the lever with my finger from underneath but you need someone on the top to take the weight off..

What happened was the ball bearing on the end of the cable slipped off the catch.. So decided I would close the two lugs together but one lugs just sheared right off so I need a new latch now haha can't make it up

Reminds me of an ex-girlfriend of mine

At least you've got there mate, one for the stickies?

Hahahaha

I was also thinking maybe you. Old have unbolted the bonnet from its hinges and flipped it up that way? Pretty sure the bolts are exposed when it's shut???

Looked at unbolting it but don't think they are accessible enough.. Latch is quite accessible from underneath.. If you just get someone to push the bonnet from the top it will open
