Ok, cringing slightly as I type this as I know exhaust related questions have been covered a million times before but not quite sure which way to go. I have a AUM 1.8T and didn't have any plans to change mine but my downpipe has just started blowing and it seems silly replacing it with a standard one so have been looking at 3" downpipes such as the one linked to in the must do mods bit. I don't want a de-cat though and am a bit dubious about the 'sports' cats I've seen as don't want any issues with emissions come mot time. I was wondering how economical/feasible it would be to have the 3" downpipe mated up to the original cat, or if anyone can suggest somewhere to source a decent cat which would suit the downpipe and original cat-back system without costing the earth...?
