I'm like a little excited child!!!
I now have in my possession my new wheels and tyres, Brembos, and new discs and pads.
Just waiting for lowering springs, spacers and pad wear sensor cables.
Can't fit much more in my hallway lol
It'll all be on the car soon. Watch this space!!!!
See below pic! Also see below pic of new Brembo calipers..... the tv remote and my size 8 trainer is for size scale!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice! Blimey! Need to send some money my way haha I can't even afford new tyres at the minute.

looks a very nice array of goodies there Alex , brembo's look ace mate....just a word of caution before you rush out and start fitting, dry fit one of the rims with the brembo's to make sure they clear the caliper as sometimes there can be contact issues....if you do it with just bare rims you be safe to return them if needbe, once you've fitted the tyres then you find out there is a problem you'll be stuck with the rims as you can return them as long as the tyres have not been fitted, just a heads really.
If you do the bare rim / caliper and disc method you can do it all without touching your car and it will just confirm your good to go or need spacers etc or worse need to change things.

I wish father Christmas would send me goodies more often...

Hmm very nice. I'm just waiting on a set of rota grid drifts to be made up for m b7 and then I'll be buying the brembo kit as well. Also rob has a good point but you could also just run 10mm spacers that should sort the problem.

depends on what offset they are......10mm spacer with et43 will be doable but anything more offset wise and there will be wheel contact with 10mm , so depends on what offset alex ordered , hopefully he'll be fine but just something to be aware of..

ROB you beat me to it lol, depends on how wide the wheel is and the offset as to what size spacers you can use mate, if you get an 8.5j wheel at et35 you wont be able to run 10mm spacers unless you dont mind the wheel sticking out of the top of the arch

I think we're getting quite good at the whole wheel fitment / offset and spacer thing tony....lol , maybe its because we've been there and made the mistakes...

yeh mate, between us we must have it sussed now Rob, i now know a ridiculous amount about offset's and wheel size's, dont know what i've pushed out of my brain to fit it in but i'm sure i'll find out in a bit of time lol

So the wheels are 8.5j and the offset is ET35.
I've ordered a set of 8mm spacers and 10mm spacers just in case the wheels didn't clear the Brembos. My lowering springs are gonna lower the car around 30mm. I'm worried now this setup isn't gonna work!!
The tyres are already fitted to the wheels. That's how they come from Rimstyle.
I went for Khumo Ecsta KU39's in the end. Got great reviews on loads of sites.

I think you'll be fine to be honest, i'd be inclined to do this.
fit the pads to one of the calipers , you may need to use some packing material such as cardboard to get the pads central on the disc and then slide onto the disc , then support a rim upside down and place the disc and caliper into the rim, centralise the caliper on the disk with the pads lined up with the inner edge of the disc.
As the wheel is upside down the disc mounting face will be resting on the inner face of the wheel , the same as it will be when fitted, hopefull it will sit level and the caliper should just clear the closest part of the inner points of the wheel , if you look from underneath now you will be able to see the caliper and what sort of gap there is at the closest point....if it doesn't sit flat then you will need spacers, how thick will depend on how much you need to move the wheel away from the caliper and leave a few MM gap, it may sound complicated but you'll see what I mean.

a pic of when I did my measuring, I had a lot of space with the rials on an ET35 , I tried another rim style recently also on an ET 35 , I needed to use 10mm spacer which I didn't fancy as the wheel stuck out too much on the front....

its never as easy as it seams alex....good luck with it , some nice bits there.

I see exactly what you mean Rob. Thanks mate you're a diamond. As soon as I get min I'll do exactly what you've said and pictured

I'm running 8.5 fronts on the equivalent of ET29 (the same as you using 6mm spacers on your setup), and my rims don't poke out of the arches (they sit just inside)....so you'll at least have a bit of wriggle room!

thats good to know. Thanks mate.

So what's the likelihood these brakes will fit under a 18" wheel ?

Robert who sells them said they would fit under an 18" wheel with an ET35 offset. I was originally gonna get 18's but thought FI, I'll get 19's.

mine are 18" rials and you can clearly see they fit, min is an 18" with these but offsets can be problematic and cause caliper contact issues so just be aware on the offset front but diameter wise 18" upward will be fine.

Ahh brilliant at least they fit. Well I'm in contact with Rimstyle to get a price of a set of 19" rota grid drifts 8.5j et45 front and 9.5j et20 rear but I'm also looking at getting 18" 8.5j front and 9.5j rear with abit bigger profile than the 19" I'm running now.

I was hoping to change to these alloys in 19"
Aex1

Hg1

but have since found out that although they are B7 fitment , they wont work with my brembos...bummer or what.

Wow...ET20 9.5 rears will poke quite a lot! I'm running ET35 9.5s and max camber adjustment and only just tucking (rub on big spring compressions).....you might want to check that out or run seriously stretched rubber?!

I run stretch atm and wouldn't be bothered about running more I don't really thrash my car it's in no way quick more of a scene whore lol
