So with the refurb and initial cost how much did they come in at?

And looking nice pal!!!

This will make Rob want newer alloys again and whether to go aftermarket or OEM style.....hehehehe

nope, not having a good week with the old bus carl, in two minds today what to do with it ...

scrap it Rob lol,

now Carl mate, by the time i get rid of this last crappy tyre i'll be in for £410 with the refurb £380 on the rainsports

Looking good!

Any idea on the weight? Got the same/very similar on mine but no idea what they weigh and don't really want to take a tyre off just to get the alloy on the scales.

i'll try and weigh one later mate see what they are

i must say i do like them, dont look that different in the pics you can really tell when you stood with it in front of you, need to get the wax/soap off tomorrow and i'm done,

on another note, i took that vxr insignia out for a knack, must say i wasn't too impressed by it, didn't really start moving till it was at about 5000rpm, thought it was going to be mental, ha, ha.

yep, I can see the improvement straight away tony, its very much like my previous set, in 18" the spokes look much chunky and makes the rims look bulky, in 19" they look way slimmer and nicer...and with the 35 profile aswell they look nicer than in 18" with 40's.

Forgot to say i couldn't get them weighed, but between me and my mate we reckon they weigh around 15/16kg they are quite heavie but not to bad, a tad more than the 18's, i recon about 23/24kg with the tyre on

Looking good, love subtle changes as you know somethings different but cant quite put your finger on it.

What do you think of the rainsports? My new bus has the 19" version of the special edition alloys on but they need a refurb and whilst the tyres all have plenty of life they are Jinyu's :grimacing: need to get them changed at the same time as the refurb ideally but wasn't sure what to put on it without spending £500+ on new boots. The rainsports look good value but never had uniroyal before and might be putting decent power through them once I get sorted.

took it out today to see what they were like and yeh, they feel a bit squishy with them being pretty soft but the held there own no probs, and trust me they got some stick, dare i say i'm just waiting for it to lash down as they ment to come into there own in the wet.

corrected
i've got 319ftlb/433Nm going through them so give me a couple of weeks and i can give you a better review lol

I used them on a BMW 335d with 310bhp and 650nm
Not as good as a Michelin pilot sport but generally a great all round tyre for the price
I used them as wets on track car as well

so will we be expecting you to have new rubber by may then tony.....

tony, how do you find the ride quality now, any better or worse than with your previous 19"setup.

its a wee bit softer Rob, but not much pretty much the same, but also it seems to turn in to corners better than before dont know if thats down to the tyre's or wheel width as these are 19" x 8J ?

Those uni royals are really good in the wet but don't last that long!

yep i'm ready for the next pair up front when needed, just wondering how long not that long is lol.

i just googled it and found this

By May 1990, Michelin Group completed its purchase of Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Company from Clayton & Dubilier of New York. The deal was valued at about US$1.5 billion. B.F. Goodrich surrendered its 7% warrant to Michelin Group for US$32.5 million.

I think they are a slighty softer compound tyre tony , also probably why they have a shorter milage lifespan....I used to run bridgestone RE050's on my legacy estate, they lasted for ever and gripped like glue but were are darn hard compound , felt like run flats ...lol
