I wondered if anyone has got spotify on their mmi, I thought I saw it available on new cars but havent got it on my 16 model or is there a software update I can get, dealer didnt know. Cheers
 
Can't you access it through car play? That's how I found it, works really well.

I have got it to work via Bluetooth streaming but navigating through folders seems hit and miss.
 
I use Android Auto however lately I've been noticing that it says Spotify unavailable. Have no idea why, thought it might be the cable so changed it. It's intermittent but still happening and quite annoying as well

I only thought this was available thought Apple CarPlay / Android Auto.

Would love for someone to prove me wrong, as it would save me plugging in my phone to have full control!
 
I play Spotify using bluetooth connection (select Media-->Bluetooth on your MMI)

Unfortunately you cannot control any playback options via MMI, you have to use the phone (handsfree of course!)

I have MMI4G (no CarPlay)
 
I can't speak for the new platform, but I had an issue with Spotify playing after I deleted my iTunes library from the phone. Basically without a single item on iTunes stored in the phone the iPhone player was disabled it seems. So I bought an album on iTunes and bingo, it was able to read Spotify again. Probably not the same issue, but thought to mention that!

Whoops, sorry you are using Android!
 
You can control spotify using the car controls when streaming over Bluetooth, you just can't view anything but the current track.

Is this on the facelift MMI with CarPlay?

Defo can't do it on MMI 4G, unfortunately. (At least I can't. No track select, skip etc. All has to be from the phone)

MY17, has CarPlay but I just can't get on with it - plus I need 2 phones connected during work hours so that pretty much rules the use of CarPlay out anyhow

Facelift MMI? To my knowledge there is no such thing...

Apologies, perhaps Im confusing things as Im not on the B9 platform.

The facelift C7 platform (the C7.5 - in my case the S7) introduced a facelift MMI - The 4G LTE version - however this did not introduce CarPlay to the C7.5 Platform, only 4G plus nav map where the DIS is, between the dials.

So my question was, are you accessing Spotify on the latest version of MMI, using the CarPlay feature to allow direct access?
