Hi all
Not long picked up my 08 Se 3.0tdi and I'm really not happy with the way it sits, HIGH!!! Or the ride it's just too squishy #marshmellow
I've had eibach pros on my focus st3 and they were perfect but reading on here the sports might be better for the drop I'm looking for? Is there much difference in ride comfort between pros and sports?
I'm not looking for low just so the wheels are level with the arches.
I will look at ARB after springs have gone on and settled in.

Any advise and pics of before after their springs went on would be great
Not after coilovers too old for that now lol

Or if there are any other brands you can recommend

Thanks in advance

Rich

Perfect , Sportline are more about pulling off 20" as they tend to raise the chassis .

Getting my HR springs and 10mm spacers on Monday

I am going with 10mm as my standard wheels are 255 just to avoid rubbing

I previously fitted Eibach Sportline springs to my 2008 A4 SE, ride height looked spot on with 10mm front & 15mm rear spacers, but the ride/comfort was very harsh IMO.
I think the shocks on the SE are alot softer than S-Line models, so would suggest for better comfort you change shocks also.

This looks about perfect. Kudos
What size spacers?
Thanks
Cheers.
12mm front and 10mm rear due to true sidewalk on uniroyal being massive. When I had contis on it was 12mm all round which was perfect.

Hi Ruairir83,

Yes happy to wrap up and post, would you like me to get a quote for courior? I've never done it before so not a clue how much it will cost?

Local garage wants £250-300 to fit springs as it's a ball ache job, apparently parts are normally always seized?

That's seems steep

its not hard, the rear end is easy and straight forward. The bolt that hold the top arms to the upright is usually seized and can snap in situ so its easier to unbolt the top arms from the chassis. Prob 1.5-2hrs work and its should be all done.

Yea, my brother in law tried to fit mine, but the top bolt on the fronts have seized. Rather that snapping them within the upfront, I thought best just to book it in to a local garage as working with a trolley jack was a pain.

It turned out that with all the movement we caused we dislodged a bolt in the headlight sensor too, which flashed up on the dashboard. Which too was a pain.

Luke have you changed the listing as originally said collection only and now you quote postage? Just checking as I am interested in these :)

You can change the rear with a set of spring compressors and nothing else

The fronts you Don't need to touch that bolt and unbolt each arm from the other end of the linkage under the top mount

I got mine done for 100quid

Went to another garage they quoted £140 so the springs will be ordered soon

Cheers for your help on this

More problems arising though rear drivers door lock intermittent fault won't unlock from outside seems common plus the soleniod on filler flap

Had this lock problem with a mate a4, I cleared codes in door module on vcds and it's working perfect ever since

I'm wanting to lower my A4 avant seems like Eibach Pros are the way to go but can someone tell me what the H&R 10mm spacers are for? first i've hear of them ? cheers

They go between the hub and the wheel to space the wheel out slightly. 10mm is the amount they space the wheels out.

Hi all

Been researching various suspension topics and I'm a bit confused. From my understanding there are three different types of suspension for the B8 model and a fourth for the variable ride, selected through the mmi/console is that right?

I know I can't change my settings on my mmi/console and have the SE set up so I ask this...

Do the three, SE, sport and s-line have the same shocks just with different springs? Do they all have different arb too?
If I were to get say the H&R 40mm springs would it still be as soft?
I'm worried that if I change the springs only it will still dip n dive like a barge? I'd like it to be fairly comfortable as it's a daily but seriously needs a drop! Measuring 45mm arch gap!

Thanks in advance

Rich

I think the best combo for all round comfort & lowering will be using springs & Bilstein B8 shocks

Yer so I said I was against getting coilovers ....... turns out I'm not that against them :confounded:
Shocks on their last legs mot in July so will need something sorted so will just crack on get it sorted
Looking at the AP set hopefully next mth

Did you consider the Bilstein b12 kit ?

You will get the drop & still retain good comfort

Just worried it won't be low enough got around 55mm tyre to arch gap?
