I'm going to replace all four tyres as 2 of them have splits in the side walls and one other is quite low but I don't know what tyre to go for.

I've been looking at the Goodyear : 225/40 Y 18 : Goodyear Eagle F1 Asy 3 XL ratings look good
Fuel C Water grip A and db is 67

There coming out at 94 per corner. The ones I have on at the moment are pilot sport 3s and I can't really fault them

What did you guys choose and are you happy with your choice ?

Also I'm quite scared getting them done as the last set I had done on my insignia someone damaged my sill. Didn't notice straight away. I know you can buy the rubber inserts for trolley jacks do you think it's worth buying one of them and asking them kindly to use it?? There's only 4 quid each on eBay so not too bad really.

If you go to a proper independent tyre depot you should have no concerns over damage.

Do a little research for top recommended local places. I find there's two types. 1) those that specialise in tyres. 2) mechanical focused depots that also fit the occasional tyre. Option 1 is where you want to go.

A good quality mid range tyre like Toyo or Falken will do everything you need and also comes with accidental damage warranty if purchased through an authorised approved retailer.

Thanks for the reply. There's a place that do only tyres called national tyres. Have been fair with me in the past.

I've ordered a hockey puck type thing that should stop damage. That way I will feel abit better when taking it in.

Interesting to hear their reaction when you suggest that.
As you have sidewall splits in two, they are illegal so urgent you get them fixed.

I shall update with how they react, luckily I'm not going anywhere this week as I'm off work. So cars booked in for tomorrow 9am 376 for 4. Can't grumble really

Well I asked them to use the rubber chuck and to my surprise they had one of there own.
