Pre sense basic is the system that uses the esp systems g sensors to sense pending disaster and pre tension seatbelts, close windows, turn on hazard lights, and close the sunroof etc. I don't think it'll do any braking though. Certainly there has been no hint of it in the two entry level A3's I've had recently, where my S3 will happily bleep and warn you, and if you're feeling sufficiently brave/reckless/retarded, i can confirm it brakes rather well too.
Pre sense front uses the radar sensor for active cruise control is the one that will monitor for pedestrians and other approaching obstacles and brake for you.

Like a lot of things SEAT and VW do not give you choices about what you have as standard on the car. You have what THEY think you want rather that what YOU think you want. You still pay for them whether they are options or not. Audi give the customer the choice.Do you have those options in your S3?
Find it kind of strange it isn't standard as SEAT and VW cars have them

Yeah, it applies the handbrake in case you fall outI found out today that if you have the door open slightly to make sure you're not too close the kerb while you're creeping forward the car will do an emergency stop!

Ah, the Brian Harvey function. Annoying, but essential if you've had one to many baked spuds and have the IQ of a hamster.Yeah, it applies the handbrake in case you fall out
