As sweet as the S6 looks in all the pics I upload, in real life it is starting to show it's age. the previous owner was away a lot of the time so it sat on his driveway most of the year, combine that with 15 years of top speed stone chips and general wear and tare, and 2 years of me living out in the countryside using it as a family car for all duties, it's defiantly a 10ft car now! (looks stunning from anything over 10 feet away).
The paint is as silky smooth as it looks on the pics, I've flat and polished the car many times now and it is getting pretty dam thin.
To be honest the car is still in fantastic condition, and 'normal' people still can't believe it's 16 years old and say it looks brand new...... but I guess I'm not normal LMAO.
a complete dog as you can see lol
the skirts are the most peppered
bumps on the bumpers
scuff on the rear arch that has always been there, i just touch it in
you can see the rear wheels are very stonechipped as well
corroded trims too
the passenger side has parking dinks all down it, but they don't really show up in pics
the bonnet shows the most where the top coat is starting to burn through
and some on the arches
pretty much all the damage and dents were there long before i bought it, nothing bad, but lots of little bits
but enough was enough and as i work in one of the top custom bodyshops in the area I made the spare of the moment decision to sort it, ready for the low collective show on 10th Sep!
so got it in
and stripped
there was a little crack at the front of the passenger front wing that's been there for years
as id always suspected, a slab of filler was in there
grinded it all off and it was only so thick because they hadn't pushed the dent out, they'd just filled over the damage, so a bit of metal finishing later it just needs a nice light skim
brakes and tyres are getting low again, i can't fault the car, i drive it like a hot hatch every single day, it flys round the countryside and outbreaks everyone, you'd never know it's pretty much 2ton!!!! but it certainly takes it's tole on the pads and tyres.
2 tons, mega low, high offset, drive it to its limits, eats tyre inner edge on the front
here's the passenger rear arch, notice most of my pics are driver side usually lol
started peeling off the protective sticker and they've done a fantastic job, you can see how bad the unprotected part is
handles and filler off
front end off. bonnet will come off later
bumpers and skirts all off
and back on the floor on my spare 19s so I can get the 20s powdercoated
so that's the plan! respray from the windows down all round.
will start on the prepping tomorrow
