What have you done to your 8V today?

I fitted the 034 Dogbone mount. I must admit I was skeptical, but it has made a really big improvement to the cars drivability. Gear shifts are sharper and I reckon the car handles better when you are pushing it in the twisty bits.
Also I haven't noticed any additional vibration. Bang for buck it's a great little mod.

I started mine.. haven't driven it in a week and a half.. transporting a dog and cat, so using a friend's Range Rover instead.. I must say reading the forums and knowing it's there, I'm having withdrawal symptoms

Today I plan:

  • Full clean
  • Leather clean and interior
  • De rear wiper
  • Tidy engine bay
  • Airbox mod
Is the reasoning behind rear de wiper blading aesthetics? How do you guys go in the UK when that rear glass is coated in dirt spray and you have no wiper?

It's a nice day so I gave it a hand wash and then went over it with Sonax quick detailer....I've had the Sonax 6 months so about time I tried it out!!!

Has anyone gone this route for upgrading the dogbone mount?

https://shopdap.com/store/make-mode...mk7-a3-s3-revo-engine-mount-set-pendulum.html

My concern with the 034 insert is it removes too much slack in the system and causes issues in other areas.. I'd be interested in other perspectives.

What issues in other areas are you concerned about?

I'm also considering these...

Basically transferring more stress to other places, like the engine mount or trans mounts.. there has to be some movement in the drivetrain otherwise it will feel terrible, but more so other components need strengthening to compensate.

Sorry it was just someone selling a full set of rubber mats and the boot liner on Facebook not a shop selling lots of them.

Made this yesterday, double sided for when taking pictures.

That's a really neat idea mate - you should patent it and offer them to all the forums. Seriously I'd buy one single sided Daytona grey background that I'd put a couple of strips of Velcro on the back.

May offer them at some point, will have to see how close I can get to each of the colours and get some in.

Changed the Audi badges from chrome to black, thought i may as well go the stealth route! Unfortunately, i'm still waiting on my rear S3 emblem coming from the US and the front Audi rings are a couple of mm too small in height, but they'll do for now!

A little tail pipe TLC today - 11 months old and nothing but the shampoo when washing and the occasional small dose of super resin polish and they are spotless - keep ontop of them and no need for any abrasive metal polishes.

Actually, that is the EXACT reason why you shouldn't go with Revo, I have 034 and If I'll have to pick again, it will be 034, 034 and then 034... Have you seen the installation video of the Revo? It's a nightmare! And IMO, even worst design than those rubber insert dogbone mounts. If you go dig a little deeper, people with rubber insert which fill up all the gap experienced extreme amount of NVH, and what's worst is they're impossible to remove after a while when the rubber melt into the subframe... With the regular rubber insert, at least they're easy to install, but just look at what kind of mess you have to deal with to install the Revo, and in return, you get pretty much the same outcome like regular rubber insert that fill up all the gap and NVH...

The 034 on the other hand, is metal and it does NOT come in constant contact with the subframe, it LIMITS the engine movement, but doesn't restrict it and since they're not in constant contact, very minimal NVH. Performance wise, I'm sure the rubber insert and Revo will eliminate more engine movement than the 034, and just like your concern, they'll put more stress on the subframe onwards since there's no gap to allow for any play anymore. And on day to day basis, you won't be able to live with those with insane amount of NVH, 034 is the only way to go IMO...

@larbel is spot on. No way would I choose the Revo over 034. Take a look at this Revo install video vs. a 20 min 034 dogbone mount install anywhere else on YouTube.
