I'm thinking of going white next,my concern is does the white look good with the chrome grill,staying with saloon as I love my current car

I think the chrome breaks up the body lines and windows and I think they look great with the privacy glass and pano roof

You could also get the black edition/pack? If you're undecided I guess.

Not enough Cosmos Blue pics on here so added these 2 . 2nd pic shows up how it looks in strong light and is totally different when seen in lower light levels when it can be navy blue or even black or again in stronger light but from a changed angle will appear purple. Very unusual colour but I am glad I went for it.
Lets see some more to compete with all these s3 owners with their Ara and Navvaro blues

I almost went for Cosmoss - only reason I didn't is because I hadn't seen it in the flesh. The configurator really doesn't do it justice.

The FL Black Editions, including S3, come with gloss black mirrors instead of the alu I think? :salute:

No, went in work time so told them I needed to be quick. Although it was the same "handover" my mrs got when she picked up her Q2 last month. Get the keys, pair your phone up, quick show of how the MMI etc works and away you go.

White and black pack... definitely not chrome.. at least IMHO... black gives it contrast..

Chrome is nice, but think it suits an older person with white.. I gather you're "younger"

Ordered the start of March so nearly been a month, build date is currently 17th April. So hoping it'll be a mid to late May delivery, which at the moment feels like an age away

I agree. Cosmos has to be seen in the metal (and bright light ) to be fully appreciated. I'm sure, when you get it, your choice of black will also look very smart.

Really?? I've got a white S3 sedan coming with the black style pack and in Aus they have the aluminum caps on the door mirrors, I actually prefer black and was considering spraying them

Interesting viewpoint on BE vs Standard S3.
As one who has entered the twilight years I think in most cases a honeycomb black grill with a silver/aluminium surround looks great (RS3), but the S3 BE edition grill, looks like an A3 and to be very honest the grill opening design on the A3/S3 leaves a lot to be desired. It is too large for the car and in black from a distance of greater than 10 meters looks like a big black hole.
I really hummed and hawed over the BE/Black Optic package on my order as my previous two cars had black honeycomb grills, but the kicker when I ordered were the alloy wheels and mirror caps....not to my taste.
To each their own but I like the standard look on my Ara Blue and probably on all S3 dark colours.

@thedan29 - In the Uk with the Black Edition you don't get the option for the alu mirror caps anymore

I don't like the black mirror caps with the S cars, in any colour but we are all different
& I am a little biased as my S4 is a black edition & has the alu mirror caps

Yeah mate l get where your coming with BE front grille,all dark colours really suit the chrome but we are different,black wing mirror covers on a S3 car are ok...ish but yer in for a world stone chips and swirls on them,Matt Aluminium covers really are must and do look much better in my opinion and the RS3 does'nt have any chrome on it all,its Matt Aluminum,and on close inspection you will notice this just sayin like ye ken...lol

Hi mate,the new S4 with the BSP has black door mirror covers as well,so there aint no escaping this unless you retrofit them yourself now

Won't be a problem for me next time as I won't be buying a B9 S4. I don't really need the space now but couldn't resist the deal on my S4

If the replacement for the S4 is a S car, part of any deal I do, if it doesn't come with the alu mirror caps, will include a set of OEM alu mirror covers

S / RS Audi's MUST have alu mirror caps IMHO

As always, just my opinion of course ... :hi:

They are purely for looks, I was always set on the roof rails with the sportback and that is what differentiates it with the 3 door in my opinion, I wouldn't get the sportback without the rails, and the aluminium looks good with the rest of the chrome surrounds if you went for the black edition I'd personally get the black roof rails

The one option I wish I could have specced, sadly that stupid thing on the top of my neck was getting in the way and touching the roof lining a little so I have to go without.

Nae worries Big Yin...lol as a wee 6 Footer the roof lining does manage to catch on me thining patch....pulling hairs out...lol but a sunroof is always a compromise with headroom in a car this size

I would have loved the stock alloys to have come in the same design but 19' but I guess it doesn't look too bad with low profile tyres and I guess the MPG is slightly better for my long motorway runs!

I currently ride a S3 8V pre facelift with these 18 inch rims and it looks really nice. When ordering the sportback facelift I was begging to get the 19 inch from the sedan... but Audi couldn't do anything.
