Introducing myself.

We've bought an S6 Avant in Sepang Blue. Went for a factory order as there were a load of options we wanted to add and couldn't find a similar one in stock anywhere.

Ordered on 20/1/17 and the tracker said the order was with the factory on 28/1/17. It got built on 11th March which was a week earlier than stated and left the factory a couple of days later. As of this morning it's sat at Emden waiting for a boat so it seems to have sped through QC too.

It's going to be the misus's daily driver to replace a VW Touareg.

Hopefully not too long to wait, we had accepted that we were going to get hit by the 1st April road tax hike but now the car has been built early we may manage to get it registered before 31/3, fingers crossed!

Sounds nice, what options did you spec?
From memory...
20" twin spoke wheels
Matrix LED headlights with dynamic turn signals
Bose
Panoramic roof
Heated steering wheel
Ambient light
Tech pack + car play
Tinted rear windows
Advance key

Might have forgotten something but that's most of it!

Very lucky but she's given up her R32 and Touareg for this.

R32... wish my wife had such tastes in cars... her idea of fast enough is a 1.4TFSI Seat Leon!

The B6 S4 Cab is the wifes car but she says she's getting a bit bored with it and wants a upgrade. To what exactly.

My missus has always been a petrolhead. She's had about 25 cars, but doesn't change as often now. She had the R32 for nearly 4 years and the Touareg has just turned 3. The Touareg was good at what it does but she finds it boring and didn't want to use the R32 too much and add to the low miles it had. The S6 should hopefully do the job that they both did.

It has to be a auto so probably the RS5 when i can afford it.

It's been sat at Emden for 8 days now. If it's not arrived in the U.K. by Friday, it's going to cost a LOT more in Road Tax during our ownership. I can't complain to Audi though as the car was built early and not due till mid to late April anyway.

I should stop checking the tracker and just wait for the phone call.

I don't think i would like to know where it was unless its waiting for me to collect it.
It would really frustrate me, feeling your pain mate.

Hope you do get it very soon and hopefully beat the new tax regs. It will be a great car either way.

Whats your drive then if this is your wifes?

Hi mate how many days or weeks now then.
I think i would have to be put into a coma to get through this.

We're in constant touch with the dealer and it looks like it might arrive on a transporter tomorrow in which case it'll be taxed and registered. If not, we're stuck with the higher rate tax.

A few weeks ago, Audi were allowing people to register cars as soon as the car arrived on U.K. soil. Unfortunately, this wasn't strictly legal and was almost seen as a form of tax dodging. A block has been put on this now and only cars at a dealership can be registered.

My daily is a 2016 Golf GTD. I do 45,000 miles a year so I can't have nice things lol. The S6 will be used by myself evenings and weekends though.

31st March, car arrived at dealer at 7am, Deposit paid, finance finalised and car registered by 3pm. Couldn't have got much closer to the deadline for the huge VED increase on 1st April!

Collected this morning 1st April and straight off on a road trip. Already done 345 miles by bedtime.

Here's a few dirty pics, I'll put a proper thread up in a few days.

Good result and stunning car.
I have to say that the watermarks on the engine cover would prevent me from sleeping though.

There is no better colour for me on a car such as an S6. 345 miles at that rate it won't be too long before you can have a play with the right foot. Enjoy.

Nice!! And how lucky are you!!?? That's some great service from the dealer :)

Although being slightly cynical it probably helped their monthly sales figures lol. But still great service :)

As mentioned give it a nother 600 miles and then you can really open her up and then its only going to get better and better from then on :D

Have fun

Already wiped clean! Not managed to clean the outside as we only arrived home from our overnight trip at 9pm, that's bothering me as it's nice for the next few days and the outside is filthy from yesterday mornings rain.

I'm not sure. They were a little reluctant. I probably fired off 15 emails over the course of the day and played phone tennis a good bit.

The cut off was arrival to them by Wednesday PM for them to have it registered and ready for Friday afternoon. On Thursday morning however they said it hadn't arrived but the tracker said it had. It took a phone call to Audi customer service to get to the bottom of it. Apparently there was a problem with the transporter bringing it from port so it had been logged but not actually arrived, when it did arrive on a Friday Audi CS told them to pull their finger out.

Nice car, looks familiar ;-) are you planning on tuning it? I see you're not too far away from me.

Will probably tinker a bit, already changed the grill to an RS6 style one. Plans are an AWE intake and some blacking out of chrome at first. Who knows what next...
