Comp housing clearance

My ko4 turbo comp housing outlet is touching China fold... I shaved a bit off the manifold and clearance is about a fag paper... How close can these sit together.. I could open it up to 1mm I reckon... Anyone have any idea how close these can sit together?
 
Thank you sir.. Now I can crack on with this..china fold is being a slight pita... Lugs that sit above the top row of nuts were fouling on the head, had to shave 2-3mm off then of course it fouled on the comp housing of the turbo and now turbo support bracket is stopping me from marrying the turbo to the manifold...***.. Getting there tho..

God knows how people fit these manifold with engine/head in the car...fiddly enough when it's out the car!

Didn't think the China folds were that much of a pain to fit with!

Is it all ported and polished?!?

they're not if you know what you are doing and have experince of them
only 1 nut is tricky and needs to be put on first sequence wise and that can be made easier by using M8 10mm AF go kart wheel nuts ;)

Yes It badger 5 ported..purchased from asn member and previously fitted to a s3 which made me think it would go straight on but that wasn't the case.. heads must different..

All heads are the same on the exhaust side aren't they??!
 
Looking back I think I only had to remove 1mm from the manifold and it wasn't all the lugs just a few.. As said previously was fitted on a 1.8t head prior but didn't fit mine without slight fettling. Suppose it's small amounts but can only assume there is a slight difference in the head otherwise would have bolted on fine first time or China fold has been bent out of shape...hmmm..its on now mated to a k418t :)

heads do indeed vary on the top face machining on the exhaust outlet face.
